Absolutely ....I pulled out one recently to use as a power amp monitor for the KPA ( a 1971 Hiwatt DR-103 ...would once have laughed at the idea of doing that ! ) ....
-
I don't own any other amps now, the KPA is all I need

Nice article ! Note that the Kemper talk is starting on page 2, the link is page 3

Zero Amps Gather No Dust!!
I sold mine after getting the Kemper. Haven't missed them.
This article brings up a good point. Namely that many musicians borrow or rent amps where they fly to and the condition of those amps vary greatly from use, age, tubes, etc or just wood density. The Kemper eliminates all that unpredictability and you know you can have a consistent sound when on tour.
There are a LOT of things digital eliminates. Tape plugins you don't have to fix the tape or clean and degauss the read/record heads. No varying amount of 9v juice in your Kemper pedals. (Geez, where is THAT Slate plugin, haha!)

LOL The ol' promised backline. You ask for a ENGL Invader or Morse, you show up and find a Line 6 Spider and get told the "Insane" preset is spot on.
-
And then came the Kemper, problem solved!!!!!
-
Two amps left, one soon to go. Triple may stay but who knows. It is only turned on to profile and the firmware brings the goods nicely when using the 4 12 cab.

My tube amps are not getting much love since my Kemper purchase, but I have zero thoughts of selling them.
1) they are paid for
2) should a different version of this product or similar be released in the future, I want my amps to profile. Or just as updates or needs for new profiles.
3) I searched long and hard to find these amps and these sounds, so they are family now
4) Just because they are cool to look at
5) sometimes its just nice to plug into one amp with one cable and go
6) Real tubes -
Marshall stack is gone, Vox AC 15 Heritage and AC 30 HW stay, don't get much use tho'
-
I can't apparently sell my Lonestar Special... Dire straits in Italy
-
I have actually acquired MORE tube amps since getting my Kemper a few years ago. Love being able to profile when inspiration strikes or a new mic is bought, new cab, etc etc
-
Yeah , I missed the look and the tube cooking but it's now becoming a tiresome job because Kemper spoiled me on that matter. What can I do since the commercial profiles I have are spot on. Mostly no tweaking needed. Now with Mbritt's Dumble profiles that I'm enjoying makes it more distant to use real guitar amp.
Sorry but out of topic, few weeks ago a friend I know was once selling his Ceriatone Dumble copy and when I inquired about it he said he is not selling the amp anymore. Frustrated as I was ( some of you can relate to this) I searched for a Dumble profiles and found them on MBritt's pack2 and downloaded them. Long story short lucky me that I did not buy the amp hahahahah No regret whatsoever -
Still own 7 tube amps - will keep them because I love tube amps and as reference.

Not using my Sansamp products and a lot of my pedals are gathering dust too - the convenience of everything in one box is great

I dusted off the old Seymour Duncan Convertible 100w recently.
bought it 1980-81
I recapped it and put in fresh tubes.
The thing sounds fantastic!
I've been profiling it, coming soon....
After I finish profiling it will stay home in the studio collecting dust once again.

Mine is long gone and I don't miss it in the slightest!

That was, and still is, a very interesting amp with its modular (and changeable) tone stacks. Far ahead of its time and too complicated for guitarists I reckon to become successful. -
My 6505 rig has been sitting quietly in the corner for almost year, and I'm slowly cannibalizing patch cords and power cables from it whenever I need something for Kemper stuff. For bass, I've had my Sansamp BDDI out a few times, but I took a profile of it a few weeks ago and now it's back on the shelf. Eventually I'll sell off a bunch of my extra pedals until I'm just left with a basic guitar and bass rig for when friends come over to jam.
