Seems that he only used profiles from the pack 2. The ones from pack 1 were to dark sounding probably? 
Not sure why people think pack 2 is any "less dark" or whatever than pack 1, they are very much the same vibe, I hear no differences in the way the amps were profiled: He has his style and way of doing things, doesn't sound like he changed anything. Except maybe some of the higher gain amps have more high end frequencies in pack 2 than some of the amps in pack 1.

Weird... when a noob demoes a device all the Interpeople raise and ask why they did not choose a skilled player for the performance. When the demonstrator is a great musician most people complain that the demo is not meaningful
This made me think of when to mean that a natural thing is beautiful we say it looks hand-made, and the other way around (thinking of flowers for example). Not sure this happens outside Italy as well tho

In Germany it is similar. When I mention on a cork sniffer guitar forum that I use lots of profiles of the profiler in my set (which I don't actually) the replies say that I can only be a shallow player with no meaning and deepness (using many sounds to make up for the non- expressiveness of the profiler).
OTOH when I state that I only use ONE profile for the whole set of my band (which I actually do) then I get the response that I 'can't put the profiler to a good use then'.
O well...

In most cases, it is the ego driven (mis)concept of being righteous about opinions. This can lead to people neglecting facts publicly, because they have a different opinion (a very basic concept in politics).
In my opinion - a great guitar sound is not just the guy and not just the gear, but more often than not a great player sounds still great when the setup is poor compared to a poor player with a pro rig.
My experience shows this has more to do with personality than ears.
I know musical folks who love making music and don't have egos about it and really like the Kemper.
The few who have claimed it doesn't have the "amp in the room" or some other disparaging comment came with an attitude and unsurprisingly left with one. It reminds me of Yoda in Empire Strikes Back talking about a Dark Side patch of jungle: "What's in the there?" "Only what you take with you"
A true explorer has an open mind and sees things for what they are, not what they were expected to be beforehand. That is the true meaning of prejudice.

I'd just want to add that no individual AFAIK is completely free from pre-judice 100% of their time.
I'd say that the wisest person is the one who knows their own prejudices very well, and is aware of when and how (much) they might affect their... judice.
A good video, but I feel Thorn sort of played up the idea that you can only have great tone with the Kemper by purchasing commercial profiles. Nothing wrong with the plug, I think the profiles sound great. But I feel the fact that the Kemper is a great device in itself got buried.
Perhaps some prejudice involved in the way he went about the whole thing. With the Axe FX, it's always about how the Axe FX is great, with the Kemper, it's all about *these* profiles, I'll note.
