i don't do profiles but i would like to try foe example top jimi marshall heads with different cabs because i think they are too bright or a jtm with a mesa cab..etc
no matter who - simply, it is not feasible or rather not easy

Huh? It's easy to switch cabs, just go to the cab slot and browse, or copy and paste from another rig.
if you want profile some vintage Combo - without separate loudspeaker - it will be a problem

I have discovered som strange behaviour.
When playing through my guitar cab i have some difference between original di profile vs the final merged one, little more fizz so actually sounds better after merged
But if i for example copy a merged cabinet from another profile and then add that cab to the first di profile and save that, those two profile differ a lot in sound,
but when turning cab block on and off i hear no difference but adding another cab changes the di sound. anymore with this?
I get the same thing with the fizz. Using a merged profile with the cabs off sounds identical to the studio profile with cabs off through a guitar speaker, yet the direct profile is fizzy as heck. I haven't tried the thing you describe with merging a different cab with the direct profile, I'll have to investigate.
Cheers,
Sam
i usually Profile DI only now....have my "golden merged cab" saved....paste it into the DI profile - without merging again, and it sounds awesome. Also on real cab

Did some recording of guitar cab and don't hear that big differences that i think i hear from actual cab, and the recording more to be trusted hehe.

Same here. It does sound awesome, and actually I think it sound identical to actually micing the same cab again in exactly the same way. I tested this the following way:
This is just great! Saves you a lot of time and will improve your results, as once you've created one or more good cabinet profiles, you can keep on creating DI profiles until cows come home without needing to worry about mic setup any more. Or, once great merged profiles start appearing for 3.0, you can just reuse the best cabinets from other people and create awesome profiles without never actually having to worry about micing.
yes this is the best point about everyting...even better imo than the use with Real cab
That will have a hughe impact due to The fact that everybody can now provide his amps, even when he/she's not experienced in micing. Make 20 profiles of various settings, take The go-to Cab and rock out. Good times ahead. I imagine a Uberschall with Deadlightstudios Cabs... Wrawrr!!
haha thanks
yes now lets collect killer cabs. Dialed in tones from other users are usally not the issue if they can do a Di profile well
The Cabs have their own nonlinear response in the high volume region:)
Right! +1
Profiling at "live-level" is still necessary to reach authenticity.

Well... Yes and no. For modern amps, the difference in tone seems not to be very significant. I have DI profiled H&K Grandmeister both at a "living room level" in 1W mode and at "live level" 36W, and the resulting profile is very similar.
However, if you want to create a DI profile for live use, then you naturally need to hear the original amp at live level. Preferably, use the same cabinet that you'll be using live.

Do you guys have artist mode enabled and Pure Cabinet enabled?
I found a bug some time ago whereby when this is enabled it makes things go super fizzy with the new profiling method. Without they're fine.

This is my own interpretation of DI/Merging/Studio profiles.
In france we say a small drawing means morethan a long speech...
Of course let me know if you see something wrong

No, I've never messed with Artist mode or Pure cabs.

In my opinion:
''Full profile minus DI Profile" is not the way how the KPA obtain a cab profile.
There is no differential operation giving you cab profile after merging operation.
Cab profile from studio profile part is still the same cab profile after merging.

I think the shading is in reverse. It's more like amp being baked into the cab than cab being baked into the amp, I think.

That's what I also think
