What an awesome guitarist is Mr. Lukather. It is reassuring to see such discerning guitarists jump on the KPA train.
is it just me, or is that 20 second guitar solo a mashup of like 12 takes?!!?!? Is that legal?!?!!?
Ha, that was great.

Yeah, I noticed that also...

That's quite normal
It's something us non-studio guys don't understand. For a perfect solo, you need to chop, match, comp, mix and then present it as a single piece. It's good to learn the tricks of the trade
Now I might be branded a heretic... But I've never liked Lukather's tone,
way to effect laden, mushy and indistinct.
Now, Blues Saraceno on the other hand...

well....it is kinda hard to not like this tone:
Luke's always Mr. Nice Guy. Everything phantastic, awesome, great, enjoyable when he's talking ... but there's always some "well, honestly I don't care at all" in his face. What he says about the Bogner amps, I wouldn't be surprised if he had said the same stuff about all of his gear in the past. While he's a gifted guitar player, I still consider him an example of pointless paid endorsements.
definitely Lightbox!
I read some times ago that Eddie Van Halen himself considered Toto as the best musicians in the world, thus Lukather of course. said by Eddie, means something for sure..........
Yes, I agree 100%. Toto has made some GREAT music in the past that will last for decades to come. And I'm 100% sure, Luke is a VERY nice person to deal with. But when it comes to honest, open opinion about good AND bad, it gets pretty difficult to look behind his friendly and noncommittal attitude.
As awesome as the musicianship in Toto is, sometimes I get the impression they're almost considered as untouchable.
Lightbox definitely has a point here and I share his opinion in that Lukather has endorsed and praised so many different kinds and Bbands of gear over the years, from Marshall to all kinds of rack gear and pedals to Rivera to Bogner that I can't remember them all.
To me it means only: when Lukather speaks in favourite of some gear he likely has been paid.
OTOH it shows that gear is not important for a world class musician at all.

No problems man
I should have the telephone number of the Spanish Inquisition laying somewhere, so be ready to have some "saint and purifying" visit

Well, i think that this kind of discussion can be made for each musician having an endorsement all around the world.
I don't know if there's any kind of endorsement going on, made by Kemper himself or by the american distribution but... who cares?
Of course my choices (as a consumer) are not addressed so much by luke's endorsement (otherwise i would have some bogners, riveras and the kpa as sat piece of gear, while i own it since almost 2 years), but i'm happy to see one of my favorite guitar players using the KPA

Yeah, totally got you and agree 100%!

EVH thinks Allan Holdsworth is the best guitarist in the world.

This!
And always preferred his solo albums more than Toto which is somehow over produced.. just my thought..
Anyway, awesome live player and performer, checked out many times.

My experiences are that the better guitarist the less they care about gear/tone from gear. They know they will sound the same on pretty much any gear and they are more focused on playing than gear.
@ lightbox: Well, he's suffered from serious delusion and I think alcohol as well... i guess it's just his way to keep himself together
