Rossgun: never mind, nobody is perfect
Everyone please check out the Tips & Tricks (wiKPA) document, which was just updated again. It's overflowing with great techniques on how to use the Kemper Preamp to the fullest
Thanks to Gianfranco (viabcroce) for this helpful collection of info!
Re: Mac users looking for an alternative PDF reader - I just downloaded and installed Skim (mentioned elsewhere in the forum) and it seems to work beautifully in Mac OS 10.8.2. I haven't checked Skim out thoroughly but it displays the wiKPA document perfectly. Thanks for the tip, whoever suggested it Skim is available at http://sourceforge.net
Thanks Bluesbird for the appreciation... and for the tip. It has been wiKPA'ed as well
Gianfranco,
a very very big THANK YOU!! For your work and the efforts you put into this wiKPA document.
Being a KPA user for a few months now, I just found your document last week and it helped me solve a major issue yesterday. So, many thanks and keep up the good work!
Cheers,
Knut

Thanks Gianfranco!
I still owe you a little essay, don't I?
Thank you guys for your kindness!
@ Doc: no hurry
If you wish, you might just take what you posted here and just add really a few words to make it more usable in a larger context But don't feel obliged in any way
Gianfranco, can you include a heads up for new owners in the document? As soon as I unboxed my KPA a few days ago I did a firmware update to 1.54, and the monitor out was dead. Needed a system reset, working ok after that. Then whenever I turned my KPA on, right after booting up it would make a loud hiss which would gradually fade out. After a flash memory format and init, that problem also went away. So how about warning new users to:
1. Do a firmware upgrade
2. Do a system reset
3. Do a flash memory format and init
BTW thanks for putting the document together
Cheers,
Deny

Deny, all that really shouldn't be necessary. I have two KPA's and didn't have any issues at initial startup.

Well I did. Maybe it has to do with the version of firmware that came installed in the unit? I don't know. Mine even started doing the flashing a RED background LCD light last night after I tried turning it off. After the aforementioned procedure it didn't happen anymore.
