I’m having an issue running my strymon pedals (timeline, big sky, mobius) through the kemper stereo effects loop. There’s a volume drop when the stereo loop is on. I’ve used the stereo effects loop for a while and familiar with how to wire everything correctly. I never had issues before I updated to the most recent kemper software the other day, so I think it’s maybe just a bug with the new software? Had anyone else had any issues

Stereo Loop volume drop?

ive just started a thread elsewhere. I get a big volume drop on the effects side using a looper pedal. In the stomps section it works as should
-
Thank you for the comment, but I just tried doing a stereo effects loop in a stomps module and it’s the same problem as if I assign a stereo loop to an effects module. Tried assigning a stereo loop to multiple modules on both sides of the kemper, same result.
Glad to know I’m not the only one with this problem though..any other suggestions to fix it? Or is this just a software bug that needs to be fixed? -

Or is this just a software bug that needs to be fixed?this is actually the first time ive used the fx loop, so i was perplexed. i was using mono loop getting the normal volume in the stomps, maybe try that in meantime, if theres a difference in mono/stereo on both sides

I seem to remember a volume drop when hooking up an analog stereo pedal running out to two amps.
I believe it was because the signal was split -like spitting a single water hose into two other hoses of the same size using a Y-splitter. The pressure flow drops because the original flow is not increased to compensate. While the amp magnifies the guitar signal once, it cannot do it again in the chain, so splitting the signal in halves cuts the volume??
I'm guessing at this.

I’ve got it set up exactly like you should..stereo pedals (mobius, timeline, big sky) into a stereo loop with the appropriate cables, into 1 kemper rig. I have it setup exactly like this video details:

Tried restarting the kemper etc..not sure what to do and guess I’ll chalk it up to a software update bug since I’m not hearing any other reasoning

What was the previous firmware you had, recent or old? Maybe roll back to it

Any progress? ive tried earlier firmwares, all seem the same. i tried a different looper pedal and it gives the extreme same volume drop. However when i put an old wah and phaser pedal in the loop they work as they should. in fact the wah is louder and less compressed in the effects side. What is confusing is you say you had it working for a year and now it doesnt. Very frustrating

I'm now experiencing the same issue, and I previously did not have this issue before my last firmware upgrade :/. Unfortunately I don't remember what number I was on before the last update...
I recorded a clip to illustrate the difference when the stereo loop is engaged. It actually sounds like the stereo image goes to mono and back when engaged. I've had my rig and stereo effects also set up like this for a better part of a year and have not had this issue before.

I was able to resolve my issue in a weird way. I noticed that the performances that were having the issue all had "Ducking" set to +0.0 (which had an audible difference) instead of <0.0> (unity) and I was unable to change the setting to <0.0> even if I removed the effect and re-added it. I had to set up a new stereo loop in a new performance and then lock the FX block and switch to my original performance, which applied the locked setting and save the performance and repeat this for each of the affect performance blocks.
Not sure if this is a Rig Manager bug or a Kemper OS bug, I did not try to do it manually on the Kemper, but the takeaway is that +0.0 ducking performed very differently for me than true unity <0.0>.

Hello!
I have the same problem with a strymon timeline and was just wondering if it has been solved. Will try the solution suggested above as soon as i get home (make sure value is <0> ) as well as a software update.
cheers!

First take the Strymon out of the loop to see, if this has even anything to do with the PROFILER.
Plug a TS patch cable between SEND and RETURN and check, if the signal on that side has different level depending on the loop being activated and not. Ideally mute the the monitoring on the other stereo side during this comparison.
Don't use balanced TRS cables. These could reduce the level. And amke sure, the ground lifts of SEND and RETURN are not activated

Hello,
I have the same problem here... With a strymon big sky. big volume drop when switching the loop stereo on.
Any solutions?
Thank you.

I Just found something!
You need to make sure that your pedal outputs are plugged in the good return 3 and 4. So if you have volume problems juste inverse the cables and it should work!

I don't think the PROFILER itself lowers the level. Verify as suggested above.
Also follow the suggestion above regarding cables and ground lifts.
Other than that make sure the external device doesn't return lower level compared to what it receives.
