If you don't mind programming MIDI rhythms, which has many advantages over the hardware pattern-based approach, maybe take a look at the Alesis DM Pro.
I've owned the entire Alesis line over the years and a few of the Roland "brains" from its kits, and value-for-money wise, especially now assuming the 2nd-hand price is very-low, the DM Pro delivers the goods.
