Direct Profiles are identified by the CABINET section being off.
If such a Direct Profile was taken from the speaker out of a tube power amp with a DI Box and a speaker as the load it is called a Direct Amp Profile.
All Direct Amp Profiles are Direct Profiles, but not all Direct Profiles are Direct Amp Profiles.
Direct Profiles are rectangles, Direct Amp Profiles are squares, if you will - does that make sense?
I made the mistake of distinguishing between them as either/or, while one term (Direct Profile) describes a family of profiles while "Direct Amp Profile" is a special case within this family.

Lately I take the desired profile, turn on imprints, and run the sound via the Kemper Kab. It has been working well in my opinion so have been going with it. Rock on...
