Direct amp profile will work better.

I assume you are running at 44.1 as that is what the Kemper requires but thought I would mention it.
The Kemper and other self contained guitar sims do not use very long IRs so if you are making them more than say 200ms they will sound different as they will be truncated. Not saying this is the issue.
Cabmaker 2 is much better than version 1 and is really close with conversions. So close that even 2 different IR loading software can sound just as different.
Not sure if Cabmaker does a phase adjustment but if so that could effect things as well.
I got so frustrated that I stopped trying to figure it out.
Test anyone who sells IRs that includes the converted Kemper cabs. I bet they do not match. The Rosen ones I bought do not.

well my tests are not accurate because I was turning the cab off in the Kemper and running an IR plugin. I had no idea that turning the cab off activated some cab algorithm.

Hmmm. Here is what I did:
1) play and record Kemper direct profile (no cab) in my DAW
2) Tonematch a studio guitar track
3) Create an IR using pure impulse of the tonematch. (44.1k .5s, normalized)
4) Load IR with cab emulator (sounds exactly like the tonematch)
5) Use CabMaker to convert 44.1k .5s IR to Kemper format
6) Import Cab IR.
.. sounds smashed or overloaded. Nothing like the stand-alone IR. I can do a walk through example soon.
Try not normalizing before converting to Kemper.
Also, even shorter IRs may be better. .5 seconds is still 500ms.

I don't know if I have correct understood but seem that kemper have a IR with low resolution. Maybe cabmaker conversion to low resolution IR cause a different sound when IR is imported into kemper?

Kemper's cabs are not an IR as most know them. I believe there is IR like technology in there but I also believe there are two separate analysis methods used in the Kemper which are more efficient than the standard IR.
That being said no one except Kemper employees know for sure and I wouldn't believe anyone who says they "know" as those who know sure are not telling.
To note, the eq in an IR is very early, from what I understand much less than 100ms. Longer IRs are for reverb/room effect and that is not needed when tone matching.

DannyEvil if you can do other test with more short IR. I haven't a direct profile to do a test.
@deadpan I contact the support and they give me no solution to my problem. Maybe there is not solution with the kemper with actual hardware and software implementation
because I think if a solution exist some forum guru let me know it.

@Tritium I know this might be hard for you to understand but not everyone can sit there are read 195 page manual. Not meaning I am lazy or lack the time, I have ADHD. Reading and focusing is a big issue for me. A simple reply from Don saying yes or no is all I needed.

I didn't mean any offense, Schreck, and I am sorry that you have a condition that makes reading and concentrating difficult. I was hoping that my smilies would convey a good-natured tone...even if a bit cheeky.
In any event, keep in mind that the KPA Reference Manual has a nice table of contents, which often times allows you to zero in on a particular topic of interest.
Also, assuming you have the KPA manual downloaded and opened as a .pdf, you can always do a Search for keywords. In this case, a search for the word "cabdriver" would immediately have taken you to the relevant section.
There is some really good stuff in there.
...just trying to be helpful, and I hope you take this in the spirit it is intended.
