It's difficult to keep up with you, Mick. You Irish folks have lots of stamina!

Ha ha.
I wasn't going to let the EVH beat me.
So hard to get the balance of clarity and no fizz with this amp.
The 6505 is so much easier to get right -
EVH Recto cab done.
Onto EVH Zilla Fatboy.Mesa V30s API
Chinese V30s Neve -

EVH into Marshall 1936V 2x12 sounds great.
I think this cab is a great match for the EVH.
I used 57 and 421 to get a bit more low mid action.
Check it out and let me know what you guys think =]

I like your latest modified Evh recto 2. Got no time now to try this last one with Mars cab.

Thank you for the two further EVH updates, Mick!

Coming up after the EVH is an amp so metal that it has metal on the front, countless knobs, several modes per channel and more valves than a 1950s radio. That's right............. the line 6 spider 4!!!!!
No wait, I mean the Triple Rectifier. \m/

What do you think about the mix ready eq on the "x" button.
Is that something I should incorporate into all my profiles ? -
not a bad idea

Thanks. What do you think about the mix ready eq on the "x" button.
Is that something I should incorporate into all my profiles ?I have not tried the new profiles yet but the idea of EQ is kinda hit or miss IMHO. My guitars pickups might have a completely different output EQ than what your settings are. Unless its the usual HP/LP all the other EQ points change from guitar to guitar right?
Your EQ tips in the PDF document were very handy. If you could include an explanation like that with the profiles it would be awesome.
Lets say you have an EQ with the following in stomp X
LP 10000
HP 100
5000
3000
230
40Explain the purpose to what you would use this EQ for your guitar is
Example
LP 10000 (Gets rid of the annoying scratchy highs)
HP 100 (Tames the lows, adjust according to your guitars bass response)
7000 (Guitars sound dull? Add this for some presence)
5000 (Guitars sound dull? Add this for some presence
2500 (Snare getting lost in the mix? Lower this to have the snare stand out)
230 (Guitars sound boxy? Lower this EQ)
40 (Mix sounds muddy? lower this EQ)Just my 2 cents. You know way more than I do. But for me if there is EQ I want to know why and how I should use it.

Explain the purpose to what you would use this EQ for your guitar isWell, I generally, in the mix, high pass the low end of the guitar to stop it masking the bass and kick drum, pull some low mid to clean up mud, high mid cut to remove scratchy resonance then high shelf slightly (if needed) into a low pass at around 9-10k to stop the extreme highs clashing with overheads.
If a sound needs more EQ than that I scrap it and re-amp. Hence this is the 3rd try at profiling the EVH which has turned out to be a very tricky amp to get right.
I understand that all guitars sound different but the fingerprint of the amp, and more so the cab, doesn't change much unless the type of pickup is changed.
It also depends on the mix and the other instruments, but these fixes are usually a great starting point.
I feel that, as an experienced mix engineer with great converters and monitoring, I can quickly fix the offending frequencies in a guitar sound so the profile user can then tweak it further if needed to get a great sound in the mix.
I think of it as a head start to the finished sound rather than a final EQ.
In the Conquer All packs, we found that most people load the EQed IRs and tweak them rather than start from scratch on the raw sound.
For playing on your own or live use, the raw profiles would probably be better because the mix EQ can make the sound thinner and less fun to play.
Try the X button on and off while recording with drums and bass and you should find the EQ on will sit better in the mix. -

dropbox.com/s/aa15fc1ed5dptyk/…5-01%2017-10-08.kipr?dl=0Good high gain tone. Still have some slight fuzz on the mutes for me, but I have to listen for it.
I have limited time in the studio today so want to get the EVH finished for good.
I have nailed the sound I want now so have scrapped all the previous EVH profiles.
Please check this if you have time.
I have put "mix ready" EQ on the "X" button so turn on or off as you wish.
dropbox.com/s/75y37kp9xri31ce/…5-01%2012-44-38.kipr?dl=0Very nice. I honestly still prefer the previous EVH Recto Drive3 (no TS).

@MementoMori
Thanks for checking them out.
I prefer the new ones. Less high mid junk.Since I mentioned the Marshall 30th Anniversary 6100, I've had a few messages requesting this profile.
Satriani used 6100 clean channel with DS-1 for a few classic albums.
Here is Boss DS-2 in non turbo mode to 6100 clean to Blackstar Series one Vintage 30 cab.
Appropriately titled "Satch Me If You Can" =]
This profile sounds fantastic for the Satch / Vai sound.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/21ybirdz5do4…ou_Can.zip?dl=0I have put this one on Rig Exchange. Please go and rate it if you like it (and my other ones that are there)

Without "x" is raw amp.
Hit "x" for mix EQ -
