Check this out!
Very interesting..it had to happen one day ;)

hmm... interesting.
-
I'm playing the Line6 Variax trough the Kemper. Very powerfull combination.
Maybe it's the next step for Kemper to Profile different guitars.
-
No need to spend thousands on guitars then???
-
i think it will not replace other guitars..but still a great option for cover bands etc but lets see
I asked them: Does it change only the tone/eq curve or also the response? Can you turn a telecaster in a EMG loaded guitar and the other way around?
SIM1: Yes! Thanks to the tone shaping technology you can clone different pickups and different response... the feeling is excellent!
-
Looks interesting, but I wonder how well it works. I'm a bit sceptical that it will work as advertised.
-
Will be interesting to hear the reviews,i wonder if it will produce the Strat sound!!! ie pick up between mid and bridge,
-
I am pretty sure it uses a similar approach to the Line6 Variax by applying EQ curves and modifying the ASDR curves. However the Variax uses piezo pickups as the source tone which naturally have a very broad frequency spectrum. Since reducing unwanted freqeuncies works but boosting nonexistant frequencies does not, i very much doubt that you could transform a Les Paul into a Strat while transforming a Strat into a Les Paul might work better.
-
....and create a guitar profile in a minute.
-
im very sceptical about all that stuff too...but lets see
-
profiling applied to guitars :
I see another great usage for KPA users; using standard guitar profiles with carefully profiles made specifically for these references guitar profiles : that should lead to perfectly matched guitars / profile, plug and play.
-
i was expecting that someone would come up one day with a specific super linear pickup and simulations similar to the Slate VMS approach
-
Personally, I don't think this will be as universally accepted as amplifier profiling.
The reason behind this is, that with guitars, I really want the **actual** experience.
E.g. when I want to have an LP Sound, I want to physically play and get the whole experience of an actual LP.
Playing a Strat and hearing an LP Sound just feels a bit... off.
All IMHO of course! -
Very interesting. I remember all the skepticism surrounding the KPA when it was first announced....
-
Very interesting, but I agree with @RookGarner: As long as haptic behaviour isn't modeled (and how should it be?) this will remain a niche market.
-
Did I miss them, or did they forget to put samples/videos on their homepage? Could not find any...
...Does it have a reason, that there are no? I am sceptical...
-
Yeah, no sound samples sucks but the idea has my attention!
-
an amp is electric signal in, electric signal out (mic) so what's in the middle in profileable technologicaly-wise
a guitar is wood (or else) + strings in, electronics out. one may profile pickups technologicaly-wise but you can't profile wood & steel -
