Anyone got a real Brian-May-Setup with Ac30 and Fryer Booster or Tb83? I always try rebuilding the sound but the full pick sound and the high cleans when reducing guitar volume I just cannot get... love Brian's live sound. Can Kemper send one to Brian please?

Hi Elfredo,
I think Peter Fischer profiled just such a set up in his sessions with Kemper.
I found it and hope this is what your looking for. It's an AC30 with a Brian May Decay amp/booster in front of it.

That was in the stock profiles as well

Yeah, I saw (heard) that profile, but it doesn't really show Brian's sound. There's a lack of "schmatz" in the pick and the high's are missing when the guitar volume is rolled down (I got the May-Guitar, so it can't be a problem of the guitar, I use a metal pick, too). Damn.

This is as far as I get... but still not THE sound

Have you tried playing around with Sag and definition?
....you could also try to profile Brian's Finger...
I'll give it a try this evening...maybe I get lucky. Which sound are you trying to replicate (ex: "Friends will be friends" Intro....)?

Ok, I have the concert. I'll give it a shot this night

where's my pimped may-sound?
-
Coming, yesterday I had some real-life issues and couldn't hook too long on the Kemper. I'll do it sometime today.

Elfredo, give a try at the AC30 Marcel Lead profile, it could be what you're looking for

Soooo.... two and a half years later... anyone's got a perfect Brian May Wembley live tone?

I dunno, Brian May is a cranked AC 30, normal channel (i.e. non top boost) and a treble booster before the amp.
These ingredients have been readily available with the profiler for a long time.
The rest of his tone, his guitar, phrasing and the 6-pence pick, not so. -

that's where the challenge starts! -

The secret to Brian May's tone is really the entire signal chain. And yes, that starts with the fingers.
But even the pick, strings, pickups, guitar, amp, and everything else...these all play a part. The "cranked AC30" is a very small, albeit important, factor.

i have read that Brian May used a AC15 who had a wrong wiering some place and made this famous sound he uses.
I got a profile that I use on the qeen song, Crazy little thing dont remember the rig, but I can scheck -
I always found this fascinating.

yeah I know the finger thing and the ac30 thing and the decay thing, but even Brian's sounds differ a lot over the years... what i am looking for is THE wembley 86 sound. soooo if anyone ever finds a profile for this... let me know perhaps i should contact Brian himself.... hmmm....

Brian would probably respond. Seems like a very down to Earth guy, and quite brilliant.
How may rock star/astrophysicists do you know that worked on the New Horizons mission to Pluto? None I tell you!!!
