Is it a bug or a feature that the remote looper won't start recording if volume pedal is in a heel position (i.e tuner is visible)? It's a bit of a pain because it makes it impossible to start a loop with volume swell... I wouldn't want to lose my ability to get zero volume on heel position either.
Looper won't record with volume on heel

Set the volume pedal so it starts on like 0,1 or something, that's really close to zero
-
Yeah I know that trick... but I do like the ability to tune my guitar when in heel position. I see no reason why looper should be unresponsive when the tuner is in the screen. Well not the world's biggest problems, i know, but still...

Im new to Kemper so I may be way off the mark here.
But could it be the volume via pedal is acting like a volume pedal on a "traditional" amp rig.... i.e. first in the chain so it mimics your guitar volume pot. Therefore with volume off no signal is reaching the amps, rigs, effects, looper?
The answer I assume would be to use your volume pot on your guitar to swell the volume in while the volume pedal is on full? Either that or perhaps a clever way to route the volume of the amp in question to another expression pedal?

Your workarounds make sense. Thing is in heel position the tuner automatically starts and then the looper can*t be activated and that's his problem.
-
Yes there are workarounds. I could e.g. buy another volume pedal and put it between my guitar and kemper. But it won't change the fact that there's no point in loopers behavior Well hope to see a change in that sometime in the future.

Most people want their loop to start with a sound, on the downbeat of a measure, not with silence.
You could leave the volume pedal turned up, and use a morph pedal instead.
-
Well even if people don't want to start a loop with silence, this behaviour makes it impossible to stop the loop if volume pedal is down. It's impossible to overdub. Or reverse. Or do anything else.

Are you using the Kemper Remote?

Then morph (or wait until OS4 will get release status )
-
Yeah, maybe I'll just buy the second pedal for morphing and waste the morphing feature just for the volume.

Lati, if you open a FR I'll sign it. Definitely looks like a flaw, can't see any utility in the current implementation...
... If someone sees any, please enlighten me

I can't enlighten you, but maybe you can explain to me this would work.
If you Start a loop with silence, the loop will contain a period of silence when it is looped, and it will begin with silence when you start it again. Is that what you want?If the KPA was updated to allow this, would you start the loop in the middle of a measure, and swell the pedal up until the downbeat of the next measure?
Without a KPA update, can you start the loop a beat sooner, with the volume up, pull the pedal to heel, and then swell the pedal?
-
I was thinking of an application like a violin-like sound with a lot of reverb (think of a seagull in the haze). This sound would repeat every n seconds depending on the loop.
Does it make sense Paul? -
Yes, I understand the sound example.
Does it work to start the loop sooner, with the pedal up?
-
Yep, you can have it work as you describe. Still, I see no reason to not back up a prospective FR tho: the least noise you do with your guitar (specially with heavily distorted\processed sounds) will ruin your loop, and if you are performing live and in real time with no time to cancel the operation...

I've just come across the same issue after buying the remote!!!
I thought I could get rid of my pedal board by buying the remote but I can't seem to get the looper and volt pedal to work like my analogue board.
