My oldest guitar which I own, I bought round about 1981.
Its a MiJ-Guitar of the great times. The special:
It is not only produced by the best firm at that time Terada like Tokai, Burny, Greco, Navigator... it is even a Terada as brand!It is a Terada Django. With the legendary Barcus Berry. It is a Jazz / Lead / Gypsy-Guitar.
It is almost exclusively to be used as lead-guitar. To grab chords is hardly possible on the round fretboard. Instead it is insanely fast (Django of course).
One of the first acoustic guitars - after Ovation - which were equipped with a fixed pickup. -
Here is my 2nd guitar ever (I don't own my first one anymore which was a 1980 Memphis Les Paul), but this still plays and sounds great. I bought this new in 1985 and I'll bring it out every now and then when my band does an 80's throwback show.

My first guitar was a Fender Squire Bullet
-
My first love - I got it 1966 as an old used guitar.
I use it in the Big Band when we play more jazzy Repertoire.[Blocked Image: http://www.kemper-amps.com/forum/index.php/Attachment/1836-First-love-jpg/?tiny=1]

@Sharry
Wonderfull! Is this a Framus? -

Wonderfull! Is this a Framus?It's a Höfner I think from the early 50ies. I spent a new pickup (Mini humbucker) and a new plug connector (the original was 4,5 mm).
Last year my luthier made service but told me there was not much to do. -
@Sharry
Ha! I was not sure whether Framus or Höfner. Because of the headstock I guess to Framus.
Did you ever looked for what collectors offer for this guitar? This guitar could have a certain value...
Yes the plug connector are often a problem in these olf guitars.
I would like to give you a hint:
Preserve the old components well. For collectors and the worth it's very important. -
My avatar pic! An Ibanez Musician 1979! Excellent shape great sound!
And I still use it a lot!

No I did not look for the value. That will be the job of my kids, when its time.I think this guitar would be the last I would sell. (I have 18). Who ever can forget his first love -
my oldest guitars is sold long time ago, dont miss them.. after i started to Buy quality insteruments, I have not sold any guitars!
In 1991 I bought a Fender Prodigy, wich is a special model, and a attempt from Fender to build a superstrat with HB in bridge. It have bin my workhorse for many years, until i tryed an Tom Anderson -
I really miss my second guitar, an Epiphone Spotlight (PRS lawsuit). Neck through body, EMG-designed pickups with coil tap, graphite fretboard (which was surprisingly ace). Same specs as this one, but mine had a much nicer quilted top :

The drive-sound is very convincing and is also accentuated in the different strings! Even with the limited recording microphone and combos. -
I bought this one 22 years ago in 1994 - and played it just yesterday.

I don't own very old guitars - so this Tele from 1972 is my oldest one.
Bought it for the great sound of it - sounds much better than all other Telecasters I tried up to now - for my ears

The very first guitar I owned, still own and play - bought as a used 70s Ibanez Strat in 1982 and completely 'morphed' over the next 4-5 years into what you see now (mostly Rockinger parts including the decal they offered for a while back then) ...
... the last thing changed where the Joe Barden's I replaced beginning of the 90s ...Cheers,
Wolf -
My oldest bass .
Gibson - The Grabber. I think from 1975 (as far I remember)
With one moveable pick up. In Europe not so common. -
My current oldest in the collection is a 83' LPC in all silver. makes up for selling my 82' silverburst LPC.
