I just bought the super lead liquid pack. I’m a bit confused about the gain control. I thought liquid profiles are profiled with gain at 10 and not at 6. How can i now get full gain out of the amp? And why is generic gain different on the profiles with gain at 10?
Just turn up the gain to 10. 6 is not necessarily what it was profiled at, just the value the Rig was saved at.
Generic gain always differs from the amp specific one, that's why liquid profiles exist
Well it is written that they are profiled at 6. I just don't understand why there are several profiles with different levels of generic gain for exact the same amp when they are all turned up to ten.
In other words. When I turn up when profile to ten, generic gain is 4.4. On another profile of the same amp generic gain will be 6. I would like to know how much gain the amp really has when I turn it up to ten.

It is true that normally liquid profiles are created with max gain (10).
However, plexi amps have no gain control. They only have a master volume. I have found that the overdrive of the power amp (vol 10) produces very poor results in profiling.
That's why I profile those types of amps at 6 or 7. It gives a much better result. What does work very well is to increase your generic gain in the profile after profiling. You will see that the gain (left knob) is already at 10 but you can increase the generic gain with very good results. I have done that in some profiles.
I hope this clarifies some things....
Thank you very much for the explanation. Now it makes sense to me. Do the DI profile or the first profiles without an additional letter in the name have the maximum gain that you could get out of the real amp?

To get an acceptable good sounding profile yes.
At least to my ears

Hi Bert,
I just bought the F-Man JayJ, but it´s not possible to install the profiles into RM, it says:
"The import failed.
One or more item(s) is damaged beyound repair and could not be imported."
The same happens with the SLO pack, what is strange since I had it in RM before a PC crash, that killed all my RM Backups...
Rig Manager is up to date (Version 3.5.20)
(only DI Profiles and Performances can be imported)

Hi,
That is very strange... Perhaps there is something going wrong in your system when unzipping the folder..? I can't see something's damaged, my rigmanager load it well..
I'll send it by mail. Please leave your email address in a conversation or mail me once more... I can't find your mail address because you use another name in this forum..
Thanks!!
Thank you, everything is working!
What happened to the *68 Superbass? That's one I've really been looking forward to. Did you shelve that one?
