Hi guys
I was wondering if the site had folded!
Bought a Matrix Q12a yesterday, I've tried lots of different setups but I can't seem to make it sound great!

Q12 is a FRFR cabinet .If you used until now power amp with real cabs , you might need to check that your Kemper's power amp section is on as far as the cab section . If yes , you might need to tweet your presets for a FRFR set-up .

I wish I knew how, I've been tweaking all day!

Just make sure that your cab is on ot the output you are usin into the FRFR.
Which output you are using? -
I'm trying to use the q12a and my valve combo, to give some breadth and balls but the Q dominates the sound regardless if I turn my valve amp up or not! I'm using the KPAs send to the valve amp return. I suppose the problem I'm having is when the cab sim is on for the frfr it needs to be off for my valve amp! Is there a way of telling the KPA to have cab on for frfr and off for the valve amp speaker at the same time?

Main Out (or Aux out) to q12a
monitor out to guitar cab -
Matrix Q12a is an active monitor - why and how you use your valve amp with this monitor?

This Why questions keeps coming up frequently!! Ok I'm not using a front of house system ( back line only)
im not going to be able to compete with a drummer bass player etc with the q12a alone, hence why I want to use the valve amp as well! Secondly the Q12a can be a little harsh sounding by itself the valves will help warm things up a bit, what I said earlier breadth and width! So back to the original question, can I disable the cab sim for the valve amp via KPAs clever routing whilst having the cab sim on for the FRFR? -

KPA-> mainout-> valve amp fx return -> how do you connecting vale amp to the q12a? -
main out to Q12 ,monitor out to valve amp
-
Output Menu -> Page 3 (Monitor Output) -> Monitor Cab off.
Then use the Monitor out to the amp. Or did i understand something wrong? -
Now i get it:)
Output menu - monitor cab off on page 3/6.
-
Yep....

That's exactly what I needed to know! Thank you

Is the Q12a brand new? In that case, sound will start to be MUCH better after about 20 hours of playing - or hearing music through it.

No I think it's a year old. I think the thing I'm going to struggle with is the middle thwonk sound, it's so cutting
im backing off all the time, it reminds me a lot of the DXR 10 and 12 I used to have and ended up selling them at a big loss. -

Have you tweaked the EQ on the Main Out? -
