So I plan on doing more profiling VERY soon. I am going to be using a Shure sm57 (of course) and a Sennheiser e609. I want to keep both mics set up and do profiles with them individual AND with them together. Of course phasing is a realistic possibility. Even doing them separately, when mixing profiles in Logic, I assume it is still possible for them to be out of phase. How do you make sure before creating the profiles there is not an issue?
When I profiled over at Tim's house, he made a jig out of a long piece of wood that showed there the center of the cone was and then had .5" measurements left and right so the mics could be moved around for best placement. That'll help but I still want to make sure they aren't getting into funky sounding territory. Thanks in advanced.
