It shouldn't do that, should it? Do I need to replace a battery? Is it something I can do myself?

There is a battery that keeps up the clock. Please open a support ticket for more info. -
Had the same issue a year ago. Like Timo said, open a support ticket.
-
I would like to have an official info about replacing the battery as a service-manual addon or so, please. Or do you guys at Kemper's would like to have some thousands of support tickets in the near future about changing the battery?
I guess no. -
Yeah, a sticky would be proper IMO.
-
Yes, can't we get some info about how to change the battery without sending the Kemper back for repair ?
Perhaps its not broken, but just needs a new battery -
I'd be surprised if Kemper posts instructions for a user to change the battery, as that would include opening up the unit. The Kemper "approved" method to replace the battery will most likely be to send your KPA to an authorized repair facility, as is the case with many (most?) manufacturers' products containing an internal battery.
OTOH and no offense intended, but if you can't figure out on your own how to open up the KPA and replace the battery without instructions then you probably shouldn't attempt to do so even with instructions... If you know what I mean...
