Is it possible to unlock the Noise Gate, to store them separate per Patch/Profile?
Is it possible to unlock the noisegate?

Select the noise gate and push the button "lock" in order to see it turned off.
-
how does one "select" the noise gate?
I thought the default behavior was for the Noise Gate setting to save per rig. If you wanted global Noise Gate settings, you'd have to lock the Input section (While holding Lock, press Input).

You are right, i haven't been detailed.
Since the Noise Gate is a part of the Input, you have to save the input and NG settings for each rig, while the input section is unlocked.
Otherwise you can choose to set the input as locked, and use the gates in the stomp sections. -
Hm, I thought I read somewhere that the Clean/Dist Sense were global, even with Input unlocked, but that Noise Gate was per rig. I'll give it a go later to confirm.

No, input parameters are not global, you can unlock them. The noise gate settings can also be set separately, as detailed by Jimmyno.
Also, to lock a section, press the appropriate button, then press lock. No need to hold lock and do it, meambobbo

yes - you are correct - i just confirmed this. ...and i realized i was using global settings all this time, which i favor anyway...
-
This would be a very useful feature IMO. Its very likely you'll want the same sense parameters for every rig but very unlikely you'll want the same noisegate settings.
-
+1! Never understood, why the NG is locked together with the input...
-
+1 for making noise gate and sense separable.
-
+1 as well

The Noise Gate in the input section is very nice with a standard setting for each guitar, as well as the Clean Sense settings.
If you need more specialized Noise Gate settings, e.g. for high gain sounds where the noise gate is affecting the performance, it is recommended to add one of the stomp noise gates and store it per rig.
-
Yes, but the stomp Noise Gates need a slot, while the NG in the input section is very often enough. Even for high gain sounds. Pre stack 4 stomp slots are not that much. Think of Wah, Compressor, Booster and e.g. Phaser...

+1.
I miss a general noise gate for high gain sounds, that does not need a slot... -
