I don't use my Fishman performer since i profiled it, sounds as good as the real amp with my Martin acoustics
Had to return it in for repair,
Thanx mightypudge, that did the job!
Just had some strange problems at a live gig in a club that I never played in.
It started with a strange kind of Vibrato with all Rigs, didn't matter with heaphone use or monitor or main outs,
Never had any problems of this kind with my Kemper and it whas working perfectly when I tried it at home yesterday.
I restored a backup, but that didn't solve the problem, so I drove home as quick as possible, and picked up my second Kemper
Also never had any problems with this unit, but when I started it up back at my gig, it blocked in Tuner mode, and I had to turn the power of to shut it down (didn't shut down in the regular way )
After starting up again, it sounded al right, so I whas happy that far, but after 10 minutes suddenly my favorite performance whas gone!
Back home I did a system reset ( thanks mightypudge ) and its working fine again now, but the question stayes, how is this possible,? Never had any of this problems before and both my
Kempers , Could it be a power supply problem ? Mayby changes in Voltage or freq.?
Without using "power amp boost" I can't imagine that your rig will sound loud enough for live performance.
With a 8ohm cab I turned Power Boost up to + 6db with a single Celestion v30 , on the stage I compared loudness with a ENGL sovereign 100w valve-amp with the same speaker.
Updated yesterday and did'nt notice any problems yet, I think its great!
Perhaps I don't understand the tuner problems mentioned here before, but my signal is perfectly muted when I use the new tuner.
Also no latency problems at all when switching to another profile in performance mode, its directly there without delay
3 years of heavy use, never crashed
I''m also using a Line6 G30 , no problem at all, works perfect for me
I guess its this issue :
Wrong rig performance mode after starting up
Didn't see a fix for this problem...
Just internal features for me
Started with Bogner Oversized 212 V30 cabs, changed the speaker with Celestion Classic 80's, swapped one back to V30, went to FRFR with Electro Voice 12 Inch Monitors , sold them and started FRFR with a single Yamaha dxr10, bought a second DXR 10 for stereo use, went back to a guitar cab with a Bogner 1 x 12 Classic 80, went back to FRFR with a single Yamaha DXR12 and now I'm using a single DXR 10 again and leave it that way ( I think
Perhaps you should start contacting the store that prommised you to send your Kemper to Germany
If you are using a guitar cab with a powered Kemper, you have to use the Red colored speaker output to connect your guitar cab.
Also you have to turn 'monitor Cab Off" , you will find it under the "output " button and than scroll to page 3/7.
Cab Sim off is active when 'monitor Cab Off " is switched to Dark.
If you use a Powered monitor for FRFR you have to connect it to the "Monitor "output, and turn the "monitor Cab "on again ( light colored )
I also turn the "Power Amp"Off ( under Output "button page 7/7 )
I'm 58 years old played guitar all my life and owned a lot guitar amps and guitars.
I bought my first Kemper Power Rack 3 years back and bought a second one two years ago to have a back up for my life gigs, never needed it .
At first I allways took it with me and kept it in my car incase I needed it, but last year I kept it at home, my first Kemper didn't let me down so why worry?
Allways played tube amps and still own a Bogner Shiva 20th Anniversary with special el34 tubes, its collecting dust the last 3 years, so that should give a hint what the Kemper does to me
The only thing I regret and I'am dissapointing about is the fact that I'm allmost 60 years old and Kemper came up with profiling amps when I turned 57 !, where whas Kemper when I whas young !!
Gelukkig nieuwjaar iedereen!
I'm happy with a Bogner Shiva 1x12 guitar cab with a Classic 80 Celestion speaker.
I use a Kemper power rack/
Also good sounding to me is a Bogner OS 212 Cab with one Classic 80 and one Vintage 30 speaker
"Cab sim" is Off on monitor out, and cab Sim on main outs is a 'locked " Marshall Green from Baldringer because it comes very close to the Bogner cabs.
Sounds very good on stage ( for yourself that is.)
I also used two Yamaha DXR10 monitors as FRFR and for me that's a close second choice, better for all round use and closer to the PA sound but a bit less satisfying for myself as stage sound
I wanted to do the same with a Fishman Loudbox Performer acoustic amp and asked in a email if this could damage the amp.
"Fishman" confirmed that acoustic Amps were ment for use with acoustic guitars en/or vocal stuff and not for other use, like a Kemper.
Didn't sound bad to me but I didn't want to take the risk.
I Mic'ed my Tube amps up with a Sennheiser e906 and never experienced extra brittle/high's at the top, with very different PA systems for almost every gig .
But It doesn't matter, I still love my kemper and I'm glad I bought me the Power Rack versions so I have the choice if I use FRFR Or Guitar cab
DXR10 is sounding good to me also but I just like the guitar cab better
