What is the network connection on the back of the kemper intended for?
Is it for some future app we yet don´t know anything about?

I don't think so...
According to recovery mode tests, it seems there is an ethernet chip inside.
I suspect an embedded web editor/command will be released.
I can imagine we could pilot KPA from the control room in a web browser in near future... -
I don't know if there will be more function available thru the ethernet connector, but if you see the thread about the KPA FC you see that it will have a ethernet connector for sure.
Let's hope we'll have something like what you think too -

+1. Digitech does the same with the GSP1101/Control 2. It allows power and data transfer and Cat 5 cable is very easy and affordable to replace in the case a replacement is needed.
