Sooooo if you were running there amp connecting up like they do with monitor out and direct out going to a stereo speaker cab you would be getting one signal with cab em on and one signal with cab em off. Am i right this sounds a bit strange
The only option to have a stereo signal with cab off is to use the main out and switch the cab off from the front panel. Monitor out is mono only and the "Mon. Out cab offf" option is not available for the direct out.
The connections of this foto are for stereo FRFR.
Thanks, Marco
So using my current line 6 4x12 cab I would have to run it in mono to use this amp. As there is no way of running it to the PA with cabs em on and stereo with the cab em off to a guitar cab that means if you are using a guitar cab it has to be mono right. Sorry to be a pain but I'm in the middle of deciding which way to go when I'm using it live. Camplifier with 4x12 and FOH or Matrix q12a and FOH ooorrrr Yamaha DXR 12
orrrrrr.... Camper 112 CX?
Yes. If you send a stereo signal with cabs on to the FoH you have to run your guitar cab mono - at this time. Maybe a future software will be able to get stereo with cabs on AND off out of the kpa.

Cheers ive just gotta weigh up the cost of all this lol.
Looks good !
I dont own a KPA but if i was and would get a power amp for it it would have to either have a volumecontrol like most poweramps do including my Mesa 20/20 (2x20 Watt tube) for example or be lower than 2x50 watts or it wont get near my vintage 70´s cab with greenbacks since it only takes 2x50 in stereo (modded to stereo by me).
I also conclude that the common speaker connector for guitar is the tele connector (TS) (like it or not) and it wont totally help to avoid plugging in the output of the poweramp to the KPA since the connector in the other end will still be tele since i have yet to see a guitarspeaker with a speakon input.

If you want this connector type, you get it. Please take a look at post #56.
The Camplifier 290 is stereo 2x 90 watts at 4 ohms and mono (bridgeable) 180 watts at 8 ohms. Your vintage greenbacks are 8 ohms, right? So the Camplifier is not able to kill your spreaker, because at 8 ohms it´s 2x 50 watts.

Yeah, if I might add : You even could get a volume control pot at the Camplifier if the volume control(s) at the KPA are not sufficient for you.
Just remember "Camplifier 290 including volume control and Speakon-1/4" combi sockets" - and you are good to go......once you actually own the KPA.

Thanks I know, i actually read the entire thread before i wrote that, it wasnt really the point of my post, it was to point out that it isnt as safe with the speakon connector as was indicated in an earlier post.

My mistake, i misread the specs since all the other amps were 8 ohms, the greenbacks are actually 4x16 ohm speakers (4x12 cab) which makes 8 ohms per side (like you suggested)

OK, thanks . Im not really in the market for a KPA yet at least, but im keeping up with the development and might get one in the future since the technology really seems like a breakthrough. If i get the current toaster style variant then i definately might get your amp, maybe there is a rack version KPA by then when i might have decided to get a KPA though. This amp solution seems great though since you dont want to carry a separate poweramp if you have this kind of toaster format amp.

I think nothing is a 100% safe in this world and we surely did not mean to indicate that it would be so.
We use Speakon as the speaker out standard to help people not to make mistakes with the connection, as we pointed out several times.
One can also connect the KPA input to an external power amplifier via 1/4" and fry the KPA. Nobody can do anything about that.
You could also plug your guitar chord into a speaker out of any power amp and turn the volume knob down. Now you got your power amp killed.
There is nothing anybody can do about that too.
You could also plug a 1/4" cable into a 1500W power amp, turn up full blast and kill your cat with the tip of the open end of that cable.....
I think I made my point...

LOL yeah or take a bath with a hairdryer or even better in this case a "toaster"
Having worked in electronics for 25 years being a tech i will likely get most other things you can "throw" at me as well
Life is dangerous!!!
Im going to invest in the mono 180 version i think, i take it that its the same as the 360 but with only one input (monitor out of KPA to camplifier) and one output (camplifier to speaker) correct?
Any idea of how much it would be to order the Camplifier 180 to Canada?
