Only speakon outputs? What if I want to connect my usual guitar cabs? I need to get a pair of speakon-jack adapters?

Yes. There´s a reason, we´ve got no jack outputs: A jack cable fits into the line/monitor/direct outputs of the kpa. You never know. If the stage is dark, the guitarist is drunk .. and plugs the jack output cable from the Camplifier to the jack outputs of the kpa. The kpa is dead at the moment you switch both units on. It´s just for safety. -
Wäre doch praktischer?
Would make sense? -
Auf Wunsch gibt´s sowas auch, aber Standard ist Speakon. Ist einfach sicherer. Zudem kommt auch niemand auf die Idee, ein Instrumentenkabel als Boxenkabel zu missbrauchen.
-
But then you'll have the same danger as described above. If you plug the monitor out to the powered plug of the amplifier the Kemper is fried....
-
Think that most musicians are not that stupid, cause I don´t know of any case, where someone pluged his speaker cable into footswitch jack of same amp, and switched power on ........! As almost all guitar cabinets use standard 1/4"" jacks the one side of the cable will be 1/4" plug anyhow, so I would prefer standard 1/4" jacks and plugs as it is on standard guitars amps too. And if a fool wants to kill his gear, he will be able to do that in any case!
-
Agree, but in this case you HAVE to plug the cables from the main/monitor out in to the power amp, having a different plug for the speaker out, in this case, makes sense, IMO. Is not internally wired like an amp.

????
When the drunk guitarist plugs his 4x12 into his tube amps send or footswitch connector he blows the AT with the first power chord. Don't drink & play, and you don't need stupid connectors! -
Hi,
lets be reasonable here. We choose Speakon connectors as the standard option for the power amps speaker connection to protect your KPA worth more than 1400,- USD. You will need a speaker cable to connect your speakers anyway. Now you need a speaker cable with a Speakon plug on one side. So what ?
I work with tube amps all day and I say : The story : No speaker connected , powerchord, output transformer dead immediately - is a myth.
Yes it can happen, but it is very rare. Even if it happens, a new OT including labor cost is 100-400,- USD and this job can be done by any technician next door. How about your KPAs output section ? I think this would be much more trouble. However, we can understand the convenience, simplicity and interchangeability of cables you are looking for when you ask for 1/4" jacks for your speaker connection.
We are no Speakon-Nazis.
We wont try to tell you what you should do with your equipment.
You CAN order your Camplifer with Speakon / jacks combi sockets with no extra cost charged.
We will ask you though not to come back to us if you (or your girlfriend, your band mate, the other guitarist, the in house technician or anyone else) have fried your KPAs output section by plugging it into the speaker output of a power amp.One more thing I want to point out : The Camplifer is not any more dangerous for your KPA when connected incorrectly than any other power amp in this world. Even if you would connect the KPAs OUT to the speaker OUT of a power amp - nothing bad will happen unless you send signal to the IN of that amp.
It is very unlikely that you connect one KPAs OUT to the speaker OUT of an amp and another KPA OUT to the IN of that power amp....isn't it?Have a nice weekend!

Any idea when the 180 mono amp is going to be available?

Yes!
Before Christmas is realistic. -
I'd also prefer a Speakon/Jack Combo socket - in case I forget the cable I can use some other guy's speaker cable haha.
Though I've been wondering since years why amp companies don't make the jump and only use Speakon sockets for speaker connections because it's a lot safer and even easier. Bass amps have it, PAs have, only the guitarists remainYes!

Can't wait, I'm really excited to try the Kemper with the Camplifier and compare it to my usual (..past?) rig. -
