Strange behaviour with output volume

I have plugged my player in and tunred up the monitor out volume to maximum (0 db).

When I then play, the volume reduces automatically down...how much down varies on the rig used so looks like some kind of automatic balancing of output volume. It only moves down and never up.

Im not aware of this behaviour at all, is this normal?

My set up is a player, monitor out into a Harley Benton power amp into a kabinet...

Could this be the Kabinet Protection? Try maxing the HB power amp and set volume on the Kemper lower. That's what it says in the manual.

sounds very plausible!! I'm not sure its relevent for the rack ( which is what I am used to) hence it was a bit of a surprise

I think it might be related to a Kone related setting. Not sure as I don't own a Kone, but maybe if you switch to Kone Mode somehow it activates that Protection thing ...

I think its time to read the manual
