A volume pedal is the best solution....
i'd also like to ditch the tap from this function or at least choose what else shares the button with the tuner. i have very little need for tap tempo and for every rig i use with tempo purposefully disabled, i don't understand why tap tempo enabling is hardwired to the button. it'd also be nice to not have to need a volume pedal to accomplish something simple like muting to a tuner.
I totally agree. I don’t need a volume pedal, and on the KPP I would use that input for a dual footswitch anyway.
