If you can direct me to a demo of the included amp profiles, I'd really appreciate it. I've searched youtube, but haven't found much on the amps that come with the KPA. I'm especially interested in the clean profiles. I hope it's not like a lot of the modeler's presets with 195 of the 200 being high gain.
Is There A Good Demo Of The KPA's Included Amp Profiles, Especially Cleans?

Hey Resonator, enable PMs in your profile.
I received your PM. I checked and didn't see where you could enable or disable the PM's.

To enable unsolicited PMs, use the My Profile pull-down, then Settings, then Communications.

Got it! I also enabled my emails.

Why share through pm? I'd like to know this info and am sure others would too

Me too! What's so hush hush about which amps have a good clean sound?
No secret here....Low gain to high gain, we got em all...think of an amp you'd like to own, download a few examples off the Rig Exchange, and you will soon hear and own the most incredible replication available today. No doubt!

There are many great clean tones.
Quick clips, lousy playing but you get the idea.
The Reinhardt Mini...Manfred Franzkowiaks Profile/Rig.

The Matchless (The Chief).
The Kemper Vox Profiles, Uwe Bossert's Vox Profiles...etc. -

Sorry, the PM's don't have anything to do with this thread. It was a way to contact me and tell me to enable my incoming PM's. I had sent a PM to Zap about something else.

I have no intention of profiling amps myself. I want to use the profiles that come with the KPA and use some on the profile exchange.

There's a bunch of KPA Preset Profiles that do great cleans, VOX, various vintage Fenders, Matchless, Bad Cat, Reinhardt, Dumble HRM, etc.
I just took those Profiles, changed the name to the real amp name, moved an EQ knob or two, added a Compressor stomp (brilliant) up front, and saved them...10 seconds work.
Here are my clean Profiles, including those used in the clips.

Here's a clip we did using stock Fender Profiles...Robin Gallagher on guitar.

http://soundcloud.com/temper59/the-chief-dirty-1Absolutely Wonderful!! Just curious, what do you run your KPA into? I'm listened to the clips through my Bose Companion 3 computer speakers. The Bose system does include a sub woofer and the clips sound wonderful. I heard it's not a good idea to use a sub in your system for guitar. What I'm hearing doesn't support this theory.

There are no rules. - if it sounds good to you.. then run with it.. thats all that matters.
Hell, I had a guy come to the studio one day to track his guitar, - I gave him the option of numerous amps/cabs/mics. he declined, and whipped out his camcorder. - and said I want to use the sound I get from this to track it..- so well, we did!.
But the overall result was not too shabby, not my style/taste or preference but he was dead happy about it!. because it was his creation, and thats all that matters sometimes. - we play music to go somewhere in our minds and spirit, not because X person told us we can or cant.
Live on!
(sorry got a bit carried away there)

At home I just use a pair of Behringer Truth studio monitors...bought them 8 years ago for a crazy cheap price and they've been with me ever since.
The bass you're hearing in my clips or other KPA clips is the same bass I'm hearing through my Behringers without a sub woofer.
Trust me, when I first heard the KPA cabinets "thump" through my Behringers I thought WTF!!!...I had never heard my studio monitors thump like that...real amp like.As Andy says, you'll decide on what you enjoy hearing when using the KPA...a sub might sound cool, might not. Generally it would make a guitar tone sound to bassy and woofy.
Regarding the clean KPA tones.
Keep in mind, Andy, and44, has a few dozen killer clean Profiles available, so there's no end to what's available...but straight out the box you'll have clean tones ready to go. -

No problem. Here is what I've collected for clean tones. Mostly rigs from others that I've tweaked. If any of these work for anyone else then have at them!

What did you put in the Wiki? -
Thanks for all the sound clips - really helpful
Guitartone - which version of the (Behringer) Truth did you go with?
Cheers

What did you put in the Wiki?
The link to the zip file, of course
Seriously speaking, in case there's a more consistent way to make this available on the long term just let me know, I'll change things accordingly
-
Well, I don't have a problem with that, but I can't guarantee that link will be good for a long time. I have limited space in the freebie version of Dropbox and could choose to eliminate it someday. However, knowing that you have that link there will make me think twice about removing it!
