I've had a few PCs come through work with faulty CMOS batteries. That was my first thought.
-
I hope the battery supplier is paying for this.

Toaster user since 2018, this issue started on my unit today. So far I've reset it and had it happen once more. I've turned the unit off a few times but kept it plugged to power and it hasn't happened again yet, but I feel like it will.....Sent a ticket to support

Hope it's as easy a fix.

Needs a battery swap.
-
Is that an end user completable task? Don't know where to start.

Yes, I did that right away as I mentioned in my post, just adding to the discussion here

My toaster had the same issue. Shipped from Canada to USA repair and had it back in 10 days no worries.

New Stage, same problem. Getting quite disappointed honestly. The thing that made me consider the KPA was its reliability when compared to tube amps, but I'm starting to question if that's correct.
So far, of all the four Kemper products I bought brand new, three had to be sent back: the Remote I bought with my Power Head had a faulty backlight and a loose screw rattling inside, my unpowered Kabinet had a ruptured Kone, and now my Stage has this clock issue. Where's the QC? I hope I'm just having bad luck.

The official statement:
QuoteThe official recommendation is simple: Take it to your dealer or to a authorized service facility. Support can supply details on request.
Chances are the battery will last a long time. 5-7 years are not uncommon, though this vastly differs, for instance if you frequently leave your Profiler in a cold rehearsal room for a week. IF the battery is down, the rigs you've stored are still save but you should replace it immediately because some functions might behave erratic.
Opening the housing voids warranty, as you already pointed out. If you still come to the conclusion that you want to give a replacement a try, let me just point out that replacing the battery is not as easy as on many PC computers. It will take time and you will have to be skilled to perform that task.
Internal Backup Battery Replacement
Of course, if the stage is new, it's very annoying, no question about it. -
Same issue here on my Stage. The unit is only a couple of months old.
I have messaged Support. -
