This dreamy bubbly creamy delicious fuzz sound... Any tips on how to get it?
How to get that sound from Good Grief from Foo fighters?

RAT pedal + AMP : I thought it was a Marshall (JCM900) but I have just checked internet and it would seem it is actually a AC30. He mainly uses AC30 for cleans for sure but didn't know it was used with AC30 for S/T album. I will try this combinaison to see what comes out of it.
Mouse pedal on the Kemper seeks to recreate RAT pedal.

Cool thanks. But what is rat pedal?

Proco Rat pedal = Mouse Stomp in the Kemper.

But is it a way to get this sound with the Kemper alone? I'd rather not buy more gear
EDIT: Ahh "Mouse stomp" is a software pedal in the Kemper? Got it!

keem85 Report back. I dig that tone, too. When I was a teen I used to play an older friend's amp rig whenever we'd play shows together. It was a 100W JCM 2000 into a Marshall slant 4x12 with a Pro Co Rat for drive. I'm not sure what Dave used on this record (I thought his AC30 days came later in his career), but it sounds a lot like that. Sort of phase-y and punchy and raw. It was one of the best rigs I've ever played.

One thing he used at this time was a micro Marshall battery powered amp that he put in a gas can then miked the opening of the cab. Any time you hear that thin sharp cutting tone that could be it.
His main amp at the time was an 800 or 900. Didn't use the AC30 until the third album. Second album was more Mesa Rectifiers.
