Does anyone know what a guitars tone control position would be equivalent to an EQ? For example 10=10k 9=9k 8=8k etc. I never use my guitars tone control,always left it wide open.(cept for clean tones) I find on a clean setting using the bridge pickup,I like the tone set at 4.Its warm and round, not cutting,like on 10.

I think it is difficult to answer. As far I remember - the Hi-cut frequence is mainly a matter of more factors:
Typ of poti (linear or logarithm.),
the resistance of the poti (e.g. 250 k),
the impetance of the pickups , (6-8 k)
the amount of active PU's (one or 2 parallel / seriell)
the type of condensator (e.g. 22nF),
and the impetance of cabling and amp input.Did I forget something?

If I recall correctly, the vast majority of what determines the cut-off point is the value of the tone capacitor and the resistance of the volume pot - (I'm not too sure of that last one, it's been a while since I researched this). It may be dependent on how everything is wired together (eg. 50s vs modern wiring etc).

a guitar's tone control is a low pass filter.
to emulate what is happening there, I recommend the Wah Low Pass effect.
turn Peak to 0 and use the Manual control to find the amount of high end attenuation your looking for,
fine tune with Peak. Mix should be 100%hth
