i seems that the rectishaper got a new tweaking so now my most important fuzz sound doesn't work anymore, as soon as i deactivate it works but the sound is now different ... my question is
how can i go back to a older firmware?

I hope ou get what i mean, when a update changes the sound of a profile it is pretty frustrating ...
The Kemper Team made a perfect update the the true cab because it was possible to turn it off ...
or the adding of knobs that do not change the sound when turned to 0.0a negative example is changing the characteristics of some effects. At themoment i have a problem with the rectishaper which i always use on my fuzzier presets
so the 5.0 update destroyed all my fuzz sounds ...i there's an important update to a stomp effect for example it woul be cool to make second version of it so in my case ractishaper 2 or new. that way the profiles stay the same over time ...
so, yeah, do you agree?
-
Definitely - but I don't think that the sounds should ever change - I think Kemper have stated that updates will never affect the sound of profiles - so this might be a bug. Have you checked that it's not just the settings that have gotten screwed up? Maybe try to restore from a backup (I assume you did a backup, since this was a beta release).
-
jup i checked everything and every sound that involves the rectishaper is now completely unusable ... and even if i change the settings of the rectishaper it is completely broken ....
i installed the 3.0 beta and now reinstalled the 4.2 but it is still broken
is there a way to make a total reinstall ? -
Have you tried restoring from a backup?
I'd contact support (link is in my signature)

is there a way to make a total reinstall ?Could you please ask the support what happend and inform us? It would be very interesting for me what they say in case of this issue. It would be horrible for us all when an update changes sounds or fx settings.
I have so many tweaked profiles on my rm and there is a bunch of time in it.
BTW: I updated to 5.0 and i dont hear a difference in my rigs up to this time.
Would be nice to read a statement here.Cheers

I already wrote them.
Well in my case it is not a sutble change, the recti shaper is totally broken, so i guess this isn't normal -

nope, at the moment i tried formating my usb stick, just in case that there is a problem with the stick itself. now i reinstall the firmware and then i'll try removing the broken profiles and adding them from my backup

Keep us informed

As Kemper updates by design are not destructive at all I'd recommend to change the thread title to ' Recti shaper broken in 5.0’ or similar to not confuse other users.
I'm curious as well about support's findings. -

how can i go back to a older firmware?Put the older FW kaos bin in the update folder of your USB, plug it into your running Profiler and roll back.
Easy. -
by now i think it is not normal that these sounds are broken but i'll wait for the answer of the support if it is really just my kemper that has this problem i 'll change the title.
But could you guys do me a favour ?
add in a creamy sounding am a rectishaper and after that a bit shaper an max the settings, and both before the amp...

We have provided more information on this in our privacy policy.since the installing of 5.0 it isn't possible to do this
-
I believe you that it's not normal and I believe you have a problem with the shaper sounding different.
I only think the Thread title is misleading. -
i already did that two times but thanks bakc to 4.2 and again to 5.0
-
you're right, i added it in the title. But since it is a reques for future updates, my request is that the sound should stay the same ...
and at the moment i can't get the sound back and this hole bandproject relies on that particular sound. I mean thats the burden of finding a unique sound -
Wow, that's awful. Is it just a matter of re-tweaking, or is it actually "impossible" to get that sound back?
-
i try to get that sound back since 13:00 and now have to drive to a gig... tankfully i don't need the kemper right now ... that is ultra sad for me
-
Not liking your misery, liking the fact that you can get by without the Kemper.
This shouldn't happen, could it be a firmware corruption?
I don't use many stomps with my tones, so I'm not the best placed to comment on this.
Any other users experiencing tonal changes with 5.0?
Post in the "5.0 experiences thread" so that more people see this and react.

Did it work?

Did a roll-back to 4.2 work?
