Been looking for a Strat figuring I would stay in the under $900 range before tax. After a few months of searching/playing walked away with this Mexican model for $350. Before I left the store I did a quick walk through and came across a DXR12 Floor Model for $299. Couldn't pass it up. Both for under $700 including tax. My condo neighbors may not be happy with this one.

Just somewhat finished this from parts that were laying around (might have to finish the fingerboard). This thing sounds and plays incredibly well:
Swamp ash body, maple neck with Flat finger board (NO radius, I sanded it completely flat).
I installed Fender Medium jumbo frets on the bare finger board and I'm thinking that they actually sound better than other frets (who would have thought that Fret Wire would have that much effect on tone) . I concluded this because when I previously refretted another guitar and used Fender Fret wire, the tone improved significantly to the point that, the guitar after being my least favorite became a joy to play with significant improvement in tone. as soon as I put the Fender Fret wire.
Wilkinson pickups and tremolo (silky smooth and stays perfectly in tune). I set the tremolo to float and it still sustains forever (I block it on most guitars)

Been playing so much the callus on my fingers have gotten thicker since I got this beauty!
I love the straight tight grain on the quarter sawn neck. Came set up perfectly, plays very easy, sounds awesome!
