Interesting thread on TGP about an innovative FRFR stereo box!

Looks cool

I am intrigued, much cheaper than a pair of CLRs and I like the idea of it filling stage from behind me rather than a monitor.
-
OK, somebody buy one of these and try it with the KPA
-
There's a demo with the KPA on the dude's website. A few Fractal users have bought them and found them very good, only complaint seems to be that you can ping pong since it's Mid/Side not Left/Right.
-
There are some negative comments about reliability, which is always a concern. It will be interesting to see how these hold up.

I thought Motion Sound used to have a product meant to achieve similar results, with some combination of down-firing woofer and X-Y paired tweeters... or something that would generate pseudo-stereo imaging from a single source. But I can't find anything on their product page now, just the more straightforward designs with two independent sets of speakers mounted on angled baffles. Maybe I'm confusing Motion Sound with a different company (but it wasn't this Centerpoint Space Station; it was something I saw years ago.)
EDIT: Google indicates I might have been thinking of Groove Tubes. Apparently they sold the earlier versions of the Space Station.

If I can find a buyer for my EV ELX112p, I might just do that. -
They are not so light at 40 lbs but you need just one!

John Huldt try his Kemper with a Space Station in this video:

Also a bit worried about how 'diffuse' the sound might be. Pretty 3D spatial stuff is lovely but I'd still like to have some impact in my ye olde toan.

Wow! Interesting.

Uhhhhh gas-x anyone ? Seriously this is very interesting. A few concerns though. Some mentioned already. Only two trs inputs ? How does it utilize these ? How would one use this as a monitor with mix ? Stereo out from kemper ok but stereo trs from Foh seems likely not configured.. Full range ? Wish they used an eminence 10... I suppose weight is a concern though as well.

John Huldt is Kempers SOCal demo guy, and i'm sure he has played through a ton of different speaker setups for the Kemper. The fact that in the first video he wanted to talk to Kemper to see if they could use it at NAMM and in both videos he was obviously blown away by the sound has my interest up.

I agree! In the first video John react freely to what he's hearing and he seems to be very pleased!

Zap, why not getting his hand?

I wouldn't mind being able to play like John. -
I'd be really interested if they produce a larger version that could act as a PA in venues with up to 250 people. Pair it up with a sub and use it as FOH. Now just two speakers to lug for a five piece band! (All monitoring as IEM).
I presume it would be set up behind the band so, in theory, even the band could listen to FOH for monitoring.
In theory, the FOH levels can be kept down without any clarity being lost and the whole room (and beyond) gets a stereo image of the sound.
I would have thought this would be a logical progression for this idea.
Cheers
