Guys, are you sure about that pure cabinet thing? i just tried it and i think it sounds horrible. I think it sounds like all the character in the eq curve is lost. Similar as if you turn "character" to 0 in the cab menu. Sounds like a cheap hardware speaker sim to me.

Distorted tones on a very linear system here sound tighter and with by far less fizz, more like a low-pass guitar cab (with a resonance on the mid-lows) would do. Yes, pretty sure, I switch it several times a day.
-
studiomonitors is the same thing...i dont get it...it sounds bad with every profile i try. Can you post a sample with/without?
-
Sorry, suddenly my Echo Gina inputs refuse to work... And I have no clue why?!
(Input meters don't even react when I plug a cable in)

my speculation: it's called "pure cab". I imagine it is trying to remove something that is associated with the microphone or room - high frequency resonances or comb filtering, leaving you with the tone of the pure cab. Similarly, perhaps it is trying to remove speaker distortion.
haven't tried it yet. In general I've found that a great profile with default settings is usually going to sound better than a heavily tweaked one, especially when you get into the cab shift parameters. I have to imagine this pure cab falls in the same boat, but I guess I should try it first, eh?

It takes around 5"

I just tried it out with some profiles and found that it made them a bit dull. I'll stick with my rigs as they are ...
-
ok im running 2.73 pure cab it works but i think it would be good if you could save it on or off for different profiles right now it either is on or off global it wont store different settings ie off for lead profile or on for rhythm thanks

Proper cab and amp separation! Slowly Kemper are addressing every small niggle I'm sure several of us share, and will e the undisputed king. Hopefully a normal input/output display and adjustment follows suit...I won't keep going just yet..

My unit is blown and dead, so I can't test the Pure Cabinet param over headphones. Someone can do the test and report impressions?
-
Perhaps this pure cabinet selection is somehow tied to the new amp/cab separation capability, and therefore would provide variable results for old rigs. Or maybe not ...
-
I'm having quite consistent result I have to say. Of course the filtering action creates different results depending on the rig's harmonic content, but the basic behaviour seems the same here
-
Note they have hidden this function in 2.8 test firmware.
-
I guess (hope actually) it will be the default setting

I tried putting the pure cabinet up to 10, and I personally think it sounds great. I tried it with uping the sampling rate in the debug menu, and it sounded like I was in the room with the amp rather than micing a cab. Really unique sound.
-
Tried it , to my ears it sounds best at about 6-7 ....but that's just my ears ....
Also , what does the cabinet 'Blend' do in the Debug menu ?
-
how do i find the debug menu thanks
