I just got my KPA yesterday and need to update the OS to use the latest release of Rig Manager. Should I update to 2.5.0 Release, or 2.6.0 Public Beta? The latest seems logical, but being a new user, I'm not sure about using the Beta.
Thanks!

Congrats, man!
Try the 2.6 Beta.
It's running great!

Welcome, yep 2.6 is great !!
wait for the 2.6 release. it'll come in a matter of some days. this way you'll be sure that everything works ok
nothing is certain in this universe We had a release pulled not so long ago.
The current one seems to be very stable and thoroughly tested. Because of the change in the algorithm and the sound change that comes with it I believe it is well worth the (small) risk.
If you have an imminent gig, I would suggest to wait some days after a beta version has been realeased, so users can tell if they find issues.
If you want to be a beta-tester, try 2.6.0 beta, if you want to be on the safe side, install the official firmware.
I recommend the official firmware and not the beta, that would be 2.5.0.
Very often you'll find very enthusiastic reactions in the first days after a beta-release. When users get deeper into it, problems may occur they haven't noticed at first sight.
Make a backup before installing anything to be able to roll back. There have been problems in the past with betas that had to be retracted, but none that couldn't be recovered from with a downgrade. Also, serious problems that affect many users will be noticed and reported in the forums within a few hours. There has been few reports about problems with 2.6.0beta since its release so I wouldn't hesitate to install it at this point.

100 % with you
Guys, the OP has just received his unit.
Nothing about an imminent gig or something among that lines.
All precautions aside he can safely use the new public beta, that what it is here for.

I agree with you Ingolf (2.6 seems safe), but it's not a assumption he doesn't have a gig .
I bought my KPA and had a gig 7 days later. Though it seems like living on the edge a bit, the KPA did his job perfectly
I'm currently at 2.5.0 and will only update to finals for gigging (but also those can be withdrawn I just read?).
But If "no gigs in near future" or "living on the 'edge' " is ok, just go with teh 2.6

No problem.
I rehearse constantly with my band. If I don't encounter any problems with a beta during rehearsal I feel confident enough to gig with it.
Has always worked for me.
Many times the BETA has become the release without changes anyway.
I'm with Ingolf on this one - esp. if a guy has just started his Kemper career.
Well, after the first several replies I went with 2.6. So far, so good. If I'd waited for more replies I might have gone for 2.5, but I guess I can always install 2.5 if I run into any weirdness.
Thanks for the replies!
Yes, exactly. You can switch to any FW version anytime
