Ok, that's a lot, I had a bit more than 80 gig and this was ok.

Seriously, how long does it take you? I can get a download of 1 TB in about an hour. I've not timed it, I just set it up and watch a TV show.
Took me about 3 hours for the 80 GB.
I have a 100 mBit/s connection which of course loses some speed while being WLan'ed through the house.
Please remember that you have to pay tax (VAT) when you import hardware (unlike software downloads) from outside the EU to inside.
IMHO is the small harddisk not worth all this - after a successful download.
Yes I think you're right.
As I'm inexperienced with this: how will this tax be charged?
It depends on the way PG-Music will ship the disk.
If they declare it as 'gift' (as some do) then you may pay nothing - or the German customs will hold it back and you have to show them the bill (amount you have paid incl. shipping).
If they declare all right - then you have to pay 19% (German VAT) of the total cost incl. shipping - and maybe some tax.
When they send it via UPS then you can pay it when they deliver the parcel.
Other parcel companies will hand it to the next tax office - then you have to go to that office and pay the taxes before you get it.

I on the other hand have a 25mb/s connection at best. I can wait. It will be here tomorrow....I hope.

The normal packages are compressed audio (m4a files) this can be bought as download only or download and hardware disk.
The audiophile package is not for download (to large files) - since it uses uncompressed audio (wav files).
(not a good idea for a MacBock (Air) - or you need the external harddrive all the time).
IMHO is the quality of the compressed files fine - and in case you ever need it - you can upgrade to the audiophile version at any time.
I think the m4a is perfectly fine.
Thanks Armin for the tax info.

yeah for me.. I use a MBAir and a MB Pro Retina... so I use the had drive and just switch between computers as needed... its too simple to just pop it in the computer you are using via usb... I like coffee on the back porch and ue the MBAir to do my prep work.. push the resulting files to the dropbox and pick them up in the studio.
the portability is nice.

If it comes with FedEx or UPS they will call you and ask you for a permission to declare and proceed through customs.
You will have to pay customs fee + import tax = VAT in ca$$ when they deliver.
If it is shipped with USPS you may have to visit the Zollamt in Hamburg.

explains it in detail.
Great. Thank you, too.
finally got a notice mine will be here on Monday!!!!
Yup, me too. By 10:30 AM.
git it.. hands on and I like the new GUI.. lots of functionality in one place... now on to getting a little work done with it..
Alright! I used the PC version of 2014 to do my "Hideaway" tune. I like the new GUI as well.
now I've moved the 2014 files over to the 2012.5 disk so I have two! no more dragging it around.. one for each computer!
I got the BIAB hard drive this morning and started the installation on the Mac Mini. I went out for a motorcycle ride (beautiful morning here in Vegas) and when I returned home it was just completing the installation. Then I ran Onyx and the Super Duper to back the Mac Mini up to an external USB drive. NOW Im finally having fun
I need to correct the time I thought it would take. I was quite off.
It would take me about 10 hours to download 80 GB give or take. Not 3.
I get speeds around 15-25 Mbps, so that would be an all nighter to download.
Yeah, that is a huge bunch o' bits, and I can totally see the need for a hard drive because some providers charge a lot for downloads over a certain amount.
I have Cable and they have unlimited downloads as of now, but I suspect that model of charging will change in the future since they control the Internet in auctioned bottlenecks in America.
Not to sound stupid only uninformed , what is Band-in-a-box
