I've stumbled upon a method to make the pedals more reliable for use with kemper. Before my fcb with uno4kemper's pedal for volume sometimes wouldn't go into tuner mode properly. Turning the fcb on with pedals in the up/heel down position seems to rectify this problem for me. YMMV.
Tip for FCB1010 with uno4kemper pedals

Have you tried the calibration procedure for them? Another trick for getting it to go into Tuner mode more consistently is to have the pedal pushed forward a *tiny* bit when you're setting the heel position for your volume pedal - gives you a wider range where it will read "0".

Always calibrate the 1010...do a factory reset: hold buttons 1+6 and switch on
switch off then calibrate (page 12):

Mine is calibrated properly (haven't tried setting heel down early method). I actually have 2 of them. 1 is normal older production, the uno4kemper one is a newer production model.

No problem with mine, bought early last year new from the Big Thom... Did calibration with the 1010 and worked fine. Then UnO chip, no calibration needed. In late Summer twenty13 installed UnO4Kemper, no need for calibration! Tuning mode works reliable whenever I hit the volume heel down!

Actually, I got the Uno4Kemper chip too and it works like a charm BUT! calibration is needed. There's always variables in the up and down position values in your Expression/ Volume pedals.
