Thanks for the response

When monitoring through headphones, is that the same tone I can expect through FOH when running direct? If not how can I achieve this?
-
I think when he refers to stage sound, he means tone not mix.

Is there a way to go directly to the first unread post in a thread instead of paging through and trying to figure out where you left off last time you logged in?There is a green arrow LEFT of the thread title (in bold) at the thread overview page. This brings you to the first unread post.
Perfect! Thanks -

I went from using a 100w Marshall head and a 4x12 bottom for the last. 25 years to the Kemper and a powered CLR. I was also worried about being able to hear it and thought I might need two CLR's. I run mine out front like a wedge and was amazed to find out that I can actually hear better now than ever. The CLR has a huge spread compared to a traditional speaker cabinet plus running it as a wedge it's pointed right at your face instead of blowing at the back of your ankles. It's also got plenty of power. I've never been in a situation where I felt like it was lacking.
Also, why do you feel you need to run stereo monitors on stage if you're going direct to the FOH?

So I received the CLR in the mail yesterday. I guess I have a lot of getting used to the FRFR sound... it seems so dull to me compared to my typical amp. The highs are muffled, and it seems like the frequencies are so much more narrow compared to playing a regular amp.
The clean tones however sound incredible. It's the distortion tones that sound vastly different.
I was on the rig exchange for 2 hours playing several different profiles last night and almost all of the distortion tones had similar characteristics.
Perhaps this is the "paradigm shift" that everyone speaks of. And probably what I'm hearing come out of the CLR is what the told would sound like on a recording. But it just seems so unusual. After spending over $3K on the Kemper and CLR I was hoping to be totally blown away, and that certainly has not happened.
I don't mean to offend anyone in this post, and I certainly will tweak the hell out of my sound to try and become more satisfied. But I just wanted to share my opinion. Thanks.
I had the exact same reaction when I got my CLR. I expected to be instantly blown away but wasn't. I stuck with it though and tweeked and tweeked and it's now there. It really has nothing to do with the CLR but more of the the Kemper. I now get some great tones with the help of the on board eq. For 99% of the profiles out there the tone stack alone doesn't cut it.

I'm a complete idiot when it comes to programming anything and I was able to program mine.

There is a slight lag which I thought would be worse live but it turns out to be pretty unnoticeable.

We'll I can add that I came here after exclusively playing tube amps for the last 30 years. When I first got my KPA I hated it and nearly gave up on it. I stuck with it though and am now able to get some stellar tones through my powered CLR. I still laugh reading how little tweeking profiles from TAF, or anywhere else, require. I'm yet to find one and I've purchased many. They do sound good though once you master the technique. My advice is hang in there.

My CLR clamshell arrived today and is a perfect fit.

Oh that's funny because I had the same issue... I Installed mine into a rack then went to register but didn't have the serial number.... you should have seen me in there with a mirror and a flashlight tring to read the serial number off the bottom of the unit in the rack ..... didn't know about the system menu option
You're never supposed to admit that. -
I get the same thing. It's definitely frustrating at times. Hopefully this can be resolved in the future.

Where do you guys normally set your main and monitor levels?
-
Bass Shelf 150 Hz (steep)
Mid Peak 600 Hz
Treble Shelf 2400 Hz
Presence Shelf 10000 Hz
I'd much rather see the mids voiced around 800Hz. They'd slice a bit better in that range. -

Thanks for the info

Where can they be purchased?

I'm trying to figure out how to turn on the volume and wah pedals. I'd also like to know how to be able turn the stomps on an off. Also, is there a chip in these that should be changed?
