I am using the suhr silent back plate now for a few years and it works like a charm
-
I more and more turn the amp eq off seems better even with all controlls at neutral
Main and monitor eq do all the work -
Yes looks like Jackson ampworks
The " lee jackson" amps were metal orientated -
I own the kpa now for over 18 months
Maybe I have spent 10 hours profiling myself and realized others can do it better
Have better mics, preamps, monitoring, amps and patience
Maybe something like a profiler player without the option of making profiles yourself is in the making
Or maybe a mic/preamp emulation in the profiling chain would help
The stereo and multiple amp is something I never got right in 30 years mainly because the "sweet spot" on stage is hard to find
What comes out of the pa system is pretty amazing now
But I do not have the feel of a real amp standing on stage allthough I tried different options -
I must have done over a hundred gigs now with the kpa
Last year in the middle of a song it just stopped working
Never fellt really comfortable about the reliabilitly after that
Things have improved I believe but still there are forum messages about dsp errors ,two weeks repair periods, system resets and other things -
Requested a non tap tremolo a year ago
Apperently not much animo -
Yes this works fine unless you touch the tuner calibration knob
Maybe you can put your kpa to performance mode with midi in the future......... -
There is another thread about leds flashing in 1.8
Maybe that is the reason leds are dying out and this topic is coming back
I've had these flashes too
So I went back to 1.61 -
Checkout Eriks other profiles
I'm playing his marshall for more than a year now -
I am using the mpx r1 from lexicon
The foot pedal is configured as wah controller and its switch is set to turn the wah on and off
The sound is ok but the response is a bit slow
Might be a midi issue
There is a thing called high speed midi these days
I will try a seperate pedal today wired to the pedal input of the kpa
This should give a faster response or else we have an issue there with the wah
But as I said the sound is ok with me -
Tried this yesterday
But just not found the right combination yet
Used a uad trident eq which improved it a lot
Curious what you come up with
Scuffham is what I use when the kemper is not at home -
One shpuld see mi gramar in Deutch
-
manual says 44.1khz 16 or 24 bit
and 1.5 seconds
which is quit a lot
now lets see if I can throw in some far field ir's -
works very well
so far only tried 44.1 24 bit redwirez files
have to read the manual
but pretty easy and sounds good
only problem is ....... well there are so many ir files -
I'm allso using the lexicon mpxr1
The midi clock is allways on
If I don't want the delay to respond to the the clock I simply do not choose the tap delay
For other effects ie the tremolo I don't have the option to choose a "nontap" version so the effect allways follow the clock
Even if I turn the clock of and assign a switch to the tap parameter all the effects with a tap function will follow this tap tempo and I do not allways want that
A switchable tap on/off or the same effect without the tap function (like we have with delay) would be the solution -
The slo100 was one of my favourite amps
The Ampfactory profiles are a bit scooped
Not as open as I remember mine -
-
Apperently the calibration was not working properly
It will be back when it is ok
So nothing wrong with our machines -
For the moment you can use the lock function
