Oh my dear god.
nakedzen, you just made me realize the next time i go on stage, i can have my stage monitor adjusted to my ear-plugs, and my FOH for the civvies.

Yeah, I think these new profiles would work pretty well with the presence and treble dialed back and bass boosted slightly for the FOH sound.
Personally I like to cut from a bright base tone, trying to make a dark bassy tone cut through in a mix by boosting the mids and highs always adds noise and feedback.
Zen these kickass through my studio monitors man, sure they will kill through my FRFR monitor. I dial back the mids a tad due to my extremely midrangey guitar ( BKP painkiller set) boost the bass and treb a tad and they rule for sure. Sound great with other cabinets well, especially my favorite, Keith merrows top Romulan cab, give it a shot!
Thanks for sharing them they sound very cool in your recordings
Thanks guys! Please remember to rate them!
5 stars, by the way where are you from?
(ok Finland)
Tampere, you from Finland as well? Thanks for the rating.
I'm french.
Ah, ok.
I put some more Mako profiles on the exchange, had some free time today. I played around with the Freak knob, which on positions 1 & 2 cuts mids, on 3 it's bypassed and 4 and above it boosts high mids and cuts highs and lows.
Also added one Mesa profile as a bonus, which I think is the best one yet of my Mesa profiles.
I swapped the cab for Fluff's 5153 profile cab and I'm really liking how they sound with it.
I put a clip in the op of the Mesa profile with the original cab.
I uploaded my attempt at getting close to the Amon Amarth "Surtur Rising" album tone. Clip in op.
So, anyone tried the Mako F profiles? Quitty, you promised a review.
I can't make the profiles better with zero feedback.
More Dual Rectifier profiles in the OP.
This time I used my Golden Age Pre-73 mic preamp instead of going straight into the KPA. I think this made quite a big difference. There's far more cut, presence and clarity on the profiles, imo.
wow!! tried this moring the redfat and the org fat profiles into a Mesa 2:90 to 2x12 V30 speakers (cab off of course). they are sensational!! I tried to crank them up to a 8.5- 9 gain setting (no boost or dist stomp added) and it keeps the sound so nice without getting it fake or too fuzzy...........
nakedzen: are the new profile simiiar in sound and timbre to the redfat and the org fat?
again: great sounds
uhm.....they sound different according to the soundclip..............will give it a try though with the mesa 290............
zen, these sound MUCH better in my opinion than your previous attempts! While I have not played them yet, just judging by the clips, they sound much more upfront and open with much better clarity and cut. that Rackto 257center is probably going to be my favorite, I can tell.
While I am still a novice when it comes to recording, Im lucky enough to have one of my best friends be one of the best and most well known in the industry, so I love to get his opinions on profiles that are uplaoded. In his opinion, much of the high gain profiles uploaded are wayyyy too dark, and would never work in a mix. (talking metal/heavy guitars production here anyways). Take that with a grain of salt, being a professional, and borderline an audiophile. I think people should really keep in that in mind when making profiles, so many people are afraid of high end it seems. It is better to have that high end and clarity and cut and cut it back some in the mix, than to not have it, and try and EQ it in post production etc. Kind of rambling, but just wanted to say why I think these are going to be awesome, WELL DONE!
Thanks! That's exactly what I'm aiming for. A really tight low end and lots of clarity on the top. I think these are the best I've made in that regard so far.
It is really easy to dial in the tone too muffled, since a tone that works in a metal mix is really bright and harsh on its own.
I made some more today, with the setup that I used for the RACKTO257CENTER profile, but I set the amp slightly scooped and really scooped, boost and no boost, spongy/tube and bold/diode.
Compared to the "4" batch, these have more low end bloom and are more modern metal voiced vs. the thrash metal tone of the "4" batch.

Zen, on your sounds clips of these, I really like the first one the best as well as the second, which ones are those?
Oh, I forgot to put the order in there. They're Rectifier scooped 1,1.,2,3,4 then Rectifier uberscoop 1-4.
So the first is "Rectifier scooped 1" and the second "Rectifier scooped 1."
How do these transtale on other peoples systems, since I'm noticing the latest Mako and Mesa profiles are getting either no votes or 1 or 2 stars? Which is kind of strange to me since the Savage profile for example that I did ages ago has an everage of 4.4 with 10 votes, and that profile sounds absolutely godawful to me.
