Richie Sambora runs his setup stereo too. As an solo artist and on tour with Bon Jovi.
Allan Holdsworth the greatest, always use two guitar cab in stereo one stage.
I've watched some of the best bands in the world live, Queen, Bon Jovi, U2, Foreigner, Metallica, etc, etc...never seen the guitarists from one of those bands monitor themselves in stereo on stage.
In fact, I can't think of one guitarist who does it?Am I missing something here?
Having stereo monitors on stage for the guitar is not very common,
maybe 2-3% of all guitar players do that.
Kemper must think about the future, I dont want to go back using one monitor, when I have done 100 of gigs with my old guitar setup in stereo on stage. This is important and I think its more than 3% off guitar players that have stereo monitoring on stage.
I have never seen a product that can please everyone in all areas, especially us guitarplayers.
All gear have their compromises.
Yes, this is the exact reason I bought a non-powered KPA. I too have used a stereo live rig for many years (Digitech 2101> Mesa-Boogie 295> 2 - 4x12 Cabs). Now that my army and I have downsized this is still possible and simple, unfortunately I cannot use any of my old cabs. Instead I run two Yamaha DXR12's from the Main Out and use both the L/R from the Main Outs to the board. It's pretty much the only way to do it since you can't turn off the 1/4" outs from the XLR outs in the KPA at the same time. Otherwise your stuck with mono from the monitor out...
No way to use passive cabinets in sterwo unfortunately. Peeraps a feature requeat is in prder, i.e. option to turn off cabinet on direct output

If you are running FRFR monitors you can set the monitor and direct out to master left and master right in the output menu and thus have a second stereo pair that you can control independently from the main outs.

Ahhhh, so your saying that it still may be possible to monitor in stereo with traditional amps and cabs (with the cabs sims off) while sending the XLR outs to the board with the cab sims on?

No, this would only be possible with FRFR cabs. You can't turn off the cab section on the direct output, only on the monitor output, at present.
Damn, damn, damn. I can't tell you how good my Kemper sounds through the Mesa 295 and the recto cabs. Just amazing. I look into a feature request, but I'm sure it has been done before. Thanks guys.
The problem is that there is no eq on the direct out if you chose to use it as one side of L/r where monitor out is the other side.
