The PLAYER and midi question

    I'm clueless with these technicalities.

    I have a customer who asked me if he can use midi to control a Player which in turn controls his Friedman IR-X...I assume he means use the Players FX whilst playing through the IR-X.

    Not sure why he's want to do that.

    Can't he just put the Player behind or in front of the Friedman?

    Or can he use a computer midi program to control/send commands to both units?

    The Player can be controlled via USB MIDI. You can load one of its 50 Rigs via MIDI program change #1-50 and switch effect modules on/off via MIDI control changes. Volume Pedal and Wah Pedal can also be controlled via MIDI control changes. This is all described in great detail in the Player's Main Manual chapter MIDI. The Player itself doesn't send MIDI.
