I haven't played this unit in a long while, but everything works fine, and I have NEVER had a problem with the foot controller. The only thing that I have done to the unit since the last time I used the controller was update the firmware from 8.something to whatever the most current firmware is. Does the controller need to be updated too? It was not plugged in during the update.
As far as the the controller goes, if I plug it in and boot up the Kemper, the screen lights up and it says "PERFORMING POWER TEST." And you hear a high pitched squeal for a second that I can only compare to that noise Darth Vader's helmet makes when it is put on in ep3. Then the screen flickers and turns off and the remote does not work
