Guitarworld Magazine posted a Paul McCartney article, showing his teenage amp, the Elpico A55. The Kinks also used this amp for recording “You Really Got Me”. Legend has it that they used razor blades to cut the speakers to get more distortion, but, if you’ve ever heard a speaker with a ripped cone, you may doubt that story
