What's the best ENGL rig? (high gain)

Hi all,

I'm searching for some ENGL rigs for high gain profile, I was wondering if there is something very close to ENGL Special Edition or something like that, does anybody has some infos?

Hi lucamormile ,

I would have two ideas for you.

On the RigExchange there are profiles from the author JEVO. A lot of ENGL stuff in there and rated quite well by the community.
SinMix has a big freebie pack with a lot of ENGL amps in there (SinMix free stuff)

Free advice:

Search for any profiles that are free before you start purchasing profiles. Make decisions based on your taste not recommendations including these. Search these forums for info on specific profile vendors and you will start to see the consistent good (or not) feedback. I don't speak for everyone but buying profiles that don't blow your hair back gets pricey and it's - no bueno

Not sure about the best but I use the Sinmix Engl Savage a lot. Its profiled with a bunch of different cabs and mics so theres a ton of heavy tones.

Deadlight Studios' Diezel Herbert is among my top 5 high-gain profiles, a particular favorite being the profile "Dz Herbert Mk1 F 2", which has a cab that I've used all over the place. Back in 2016 they posted a particularly good free patch on here (search for "Free Ton(e)hammer Engl Extreme Aggression Profile!") that started me on the Deadlight collection bandwagon - I've been mining all their profiles ever since for gems.

I track and reamp with his profiles a lot. Worthy and very reasonable prices. Not a ton of cabs but he definitely gets it.

Keith Merrow rig pack in the downloads, one in particular I think its called called extra 19 is a great Engl profile, he has a lot of other great ones too.
