Yamaha DXR10, bought it on recommendation from this group and I love it.
(So much that the band I play in bought a complete DXR PA, 15" subs, 12" tops & 4 10" monitors) -
Love my Friedman ASM-12's ! The difference between them and "others" ? They don't just sound good playing a guitar thru them, they are designed and built for that very reason...

I also was a fan of the DXR 10. Now I am using a Xitone M Britt powered 12” cab.
It can be used as an open or closed back. With this thing behind me and using the monitor out on the KPA and sending main outs to FOH the sound is fantastic. I now use the DXR 10 as a wedge monitor for the drummer and keyboard player.
The Xitone just sounds more “amp-like” to me -

I'm pretty happy with my DXR10 but wanted a bit more amp/cab type sound as my backline. Ordered the Xitone MBritt 3 weeks ago so I'm probably a couple weeks away still.
Can't wait! -
The ev zlx12p is good but you have to reduce the bass on the speaker to get a clear sound.

@ashtweth sings praises of the Gemini Cabs and he has two, so you know he likes them. Other possibilities are the Atomic Clrs, but I trust in Ash

Atomic CLR

If you're on a budget, DXR10. If not, Atomic CLR. If you want that real "amp in the room" sound, just use a real guitar cabinet. I go back and forth between a CLR and a standard 2x12 depending on my mood. I found the cab-like FRFRs were just a compromise that neither sounded like a real cabinet, nor did it sound like what I got when I dialed in my profiles through my studio monitors. With the CLR, I don't have to touch a single knob when going from studio monitors to CLR. When I want that thump in the chest feeling, I use a real cab...no compromises

@Rapidfire have you adjusted the DSP to your liking?
-
Yep! I hated the way it sounded at first. I messed with the dsp settings and it made a world of difference! Everything is crystal clear now.

Pair of DXR10's on stands
-
I would suggest a 15" speaker, check out the alto brand, they're not ridiculously expensive and have solid build and sound quality.
-
Ya know, it looks as if everything sounds good with a Kemper.
-
My experience is that the choice of FRFR-system depends a lot on the setting. I don't have the powered Kemper so I have only tested active FRFR-speakers.
- On stands I prefer a pair of Yamaha DSR112s. Those do unfortunately not work well as wedges so for speakers to double as wedges the DXR12 or DXR10 are a better choice.
- Despite all the praise that the Atomic CLR and the Yamaha DXR10 gets, I prefer a pair of Dynacord AXM 12A monitors in the wedge position.
- As a backline cabinet I prefer a Mission Gemini II.
-
I love my Friedman ASC-12. This thing is fantastic!

I have an EV zlx15P that I use for FOH sometimes and I used it as a guitar monitor recently.....It was superb
