Distortion Stomp: balanced, tube-like overdrive

Hi everyone,

what I am missing is a round, balanced, tube-like overdrive pedal that adds some overdrive, but does not color the amp sound too much. For my taste, the Plus DS, One Ds, Muffin, Mouse, Fuzz are too harsh in this respect, and the green scream is a bit too mid-focused. And the boost pedals are too much depending on increasing the amp input, thereby adding significant volume.
Anyone else interested in that? Or any suggestions how to deal in this sound with the existing overdrive sims?

simply increase the gain of the Profile, it is completely transparent, just gain no tonal change.
reduce the volume control on your guitar a bit (to get the previous, lower level of distortion) and you have your gain boost right there at your fingertips, like it was done for decades
