New Atomic stuff; still haven't had a chance to check out the original AmpliFIRE yet and this lot has just been announced...! No real rush or need to when you have a Kemper then again

I also didn't have a chance to try an AmpliFIRE yet. I would consider it as a backup for the KPA.

The Amlifire box looks really interesting. Looks like a good backup for the KPA.

Yeah, at that price it's a very good backup option, assuming it has the same sound engine as the others.
That 300€ lil box is pretty funky and appealing , I dream of a pocket sized KPA like this from the day I bought my kemper.

I've actually thought about that a lot. At home I'm constantly going through and testing various profiles but, when I'm out playing, I really only use three on any given night (clean, drive, lead). Maybe a simple two switch pedal that holds a few profiles and no effects since most pedal guys have their favorite effects in pedal form already. I think I'd prefer something simple like that as opposed to the full-on floor version KPA everyone seems to want
For $300 I'll be picking up the little squirt. That's cheaper than some 5-component fuzz pedals out there. I suggested a while back that Kemper do a profile player in this form factor. I guess Atomic read my post.
Not to be a downer but the Amplifire modelling simply isn't anything to shout about even with custom IRs. I tested one extensively for weeks on end and the Kemper destroys it and analogue modellers are warmer. It is either brittle or flubby, you just can't seem to dial it out.
You might as well get a Sansamp or Joyo American Sound or something if you want a stomp size amp sim as a backup rig. Cheaper and will sound as good if not better.

You have a point. I had one of the original Amplifire boxes and traded it toward a second KPA for backup ...
Love how the common thought (which it so happens mirrors our own feelings) as a backup for your Kemper is....*drum roll*... Another Kemper! Haha. Just shows you really can't get better even with the option of variety !
It does have Spring Reverb though, yes, I went there again

Now that's a cheap backup I assume you have one? How does it handle overdrives in front of it?
I was joking. I did play one in a guitar store once and liked it (this was 15 years ago) But the store folks thought I was crazy.
I owned the real thing and it was fantastic.
Now I just play the profile. Sounds fantastic.
