What are you so concerned about? It's not like you like the sounds you're getting right now.
There are several types of resets; if this doesn't work, then I advise you to contact support, who might direct you to do another type of reset - or do some other type of troubleshooting.
If you haven't messed with anything, there's no harm done in doing the reset. Even if you have - as I said, you don't like the current tones you're getting (or more precisely, they're wrong, as evidenced by sinmix' and my reampings).
It's not like you'll break warranty or anything. It sets some variables to their default state, the way they should have been when you received the unit.
