Wow, created in 2012 and still getting good reviews. I like this profile a lot. There is something about this one and the BlackChief that just sound like tube amps even at a low volume.

Just got the call from Kemper and I DO have the latest version (the 4653 in the file was just a mistake in naming). Apparently it's just a known fact that RM isn't stable.
-
I asked support for a fix because my Stage keeps locking up every time I use Rig Manager. Note: Rig Manager works, but when I close out RM and try to use the Stage, it locks up. They sent me what appears to be a lower version 4653 vs 4853, but it doesn't install. Still no call from support.

Different (lower) version on the stick, formatted on Kemper, file in root or Update folder (doesn't change anything). I've even tried 3 different sticks formatted first with Fat 32 on 3 different computers. The USB stick works in every case because I can backup to it. I'll just wait for the guy to call me.
-
What they sent me was a lower number Stage 7.0.1.14653 Release. Currently installed is 7.0.1.14853

Yep - nothing ever happens.

I received an update via email from kemper support, followed the instructions in the manual to install it and it does nothing. What is the trick to get it to update? (the guy was supposed to call me but never did). So far I had to return the first one (bad foot switch) and now this. Is this normal for Kemper?

I created a ticket with support, still waiting, and still locking up on me. Anyone else having issues with Rig Manager locking their stage up? This is very annoying. I've been using pedals for 20 years and have never seen such an issue.

Yeah it's getting better. I had a chance to profile my AC15 over the weekend and used a homemade cheap 1x12 cabinet with an old VOX speaker that I bought off ebay, and it turns out that the profile is really close to one of Tone Junkies free Match Club profile that I had picked as one of my favorites. I'll be removing a lot of stuff I don't like and just focusing on these for a while. There is also one in the Rig Exchange of a Blackstar A15 that really seems to sound like a tube amp for whatever reason. Some clean profiles like Fender just sound lifeless to me. The journey continues...

PC are the ones that change patch numbers - pretty sure the Kemper would do that? Every pedal I've ever used sends Program Changes.

Looks like program changes are possible (at least with OnSong) - check out

I'll give it a shot. Thanks! Well that didn't work either. I guess I won't be uploading files yet.

Why do my rigs from Stage show ,krig and not kipr? Rig exchange won't let me upload them. Am I doing something wrong?

I"m new to the Kemper (Stage) and the first few days are like (yes option paralysis), seeing something like 16000 rigs available. Turns out, what I like is pretty much what I've been using on my old pedals, and I actually profiled them and am comparing to real amp profiles, they sound pretty dang good. I like the edge of break up (e.g. Tim Pierce), and to push into overdrive with pedals which the Kemper has lots of options. So far, very happy with this purchase, but still amazed by the options in profiles.

I'm new also. Question: Any recommendations on medium gain profile sellers (e.g. Top Jimi, Tone Junkie, etc) who is the best for something like Vox AC30 or Matchless? M Britt stuff sounds to dark to me, I'm liking the Top Jimi stuff, but wanted some insight from experienced users.

I've been using an old Tonelab LE with a tube preamp in front and Torpedo CAB for speakers. I profiled that and the sounds are pretty close to some of the sounds in the Stage. Interesting how you get used to a certain tone. Also, checking out thousands of profiles made by others is a real trap to fall into like testing different cabinets in the Torpedo CAB (never ending).
