stay in your lane, plexi’s in mono!
You can still use with PA or FRFR, but you'll have to add a cab from the Kemper. Not really a problem.
As to your question, it does take all of those variables out of the equation. Its pretty fool proof, but you can get quality profiles with "just" a 57. I slap one in the middle of the speaker, against the grill cloth and move until I get the most hiss on my monitors. That way I have all of the highs I will need and can cut them as needed.
I'm curious, are you guys using the XLR or 1/4" Return Input on the KPA? When doing DA profiles the output of the DI box can be pretty hot and if you are using the XLR input it could be over driving it.
From the manual: Use the quarter-inch input to take a
line-level signal from a digital amp, speaker simulation or subgroup of a mixing desk. Use the XLR input
as appropriate, for instance with a microphone.Hope that helps.
I'm using the XLR, as that is what the Kemper DI box is set up to use. It worked for a few sessions then went rogue on me. The input and output lights are green when profiling, so the signal should be good.
He emails the links to download....I guess he could have just hosted the files or put them on RE
anyone can share the link ?
Thanks! Will check out for sure. What kind guitar/pickups did you refine this with?
Warmoth strat with six saddle fender trem/bridge, maple neck, Duncan custom shop '78
I'm using the Kemper DI box, well I was, I went back to mic'ing because it's killing me.
The DI profiles were amazing while it lasted....
Just put a profile of that amp in RE on the '68 mode. Has hints of early Van Halen I believe.
Haven't seen a whole lot of Bens amps on the RE, so I figured I'd share. I used to own an Olde 800 mark II, what a flame thrower, so I am not surprised at this amp either. He makes some killer Marshall style amps.
Enjoy
I'm having this same issue, half way thru a session/day of profiling, they started turning out like this.
I recently started some di profiles and a few came out amazing and then I couldn't get any to come out without severe clipping. They are just on the verge of breakup, clean amp settings. Checked connections, input and output gain/volume(lights stay green). I'm stumped and bummed as the few I did get were spot on perfect profiles. I can't get anything to come out without sounding like a di profile with no cab on.
Any ideas?
Just added those pedals thru a Mesa TA-15 into a 4x12 25 watt greenback cab
These were Direct profiles(I only have an old SM57 so I've given up on mic'ing the cab) but added the cab to match what was actually being heard in the room. I used a Eric Johnson strat with fender CS 69's.
I also did a Lovepedal Tchula Black Mamba but unfortunately it sounds like the signal overloaded. Almost like a octave divider is on, I can't figure out what I did wrong, I don't see anything apparent in the signals. I've tried different cabs but nothing fixes it. Not that big of a deal, I'll re profile and see if I can get it to sound proper.
enjoy
P.S. lower the amp volume, I must have compared them to a high volume profile and turned the volume up to 8 to match. After comparing to factory profiles, they ripped my head off!
edit; the one named Stevie in RE, is a Super Six- SRV so NAKED

Just added 2 with a PQ3 in front ...HVY2 and STRYP
I just uploaded a few Mark III green stripe profiles and a few of my Trainwreck clone. The TW on 4 has the bright switch engaged. I think it really captured the essence of the amp in it's ability to clean up with the volume knob on both profiles.
I used my new Kemper DI box
What month is this magazine? Will keep an eye out for it on the uk shelves
March 2017
Wow man, thanks for letting me know, most of his profiles are killer!
Yes indeed, if you have ever played a killer Marshall plexi or 2203/2204, these profiles give up the goods like a dimed, grail worthy, Marshall
I use whatever Top Jimi has, I dug it so I just locked it in for all of my rigs
